People get so sensitive over Ventura. It's so weird! I think game 6 is all they can think about with him.

rank your royals starters right now (to this day):

1. Volquez
2. Duffy
3. Young
4. Guthrie
5. Vargas
6. Ventura

I'd put Young ahead of Duffy, but otherwise, I agree.

gmafb with the ventura's problems are mental crap.  whether you think he's some injury-faking head case, or think that he can't pitch unless he's allowed to yell at the opposing players.

when he sucks, he sucks because the ball doesn't go where he wants it to, just like every other pitcher in the world that sometimes sucks.

Baseball is 80% mental and 40% physical.

Yeah, I guess I just don't know where Vargas will be when he gets back. Also, I liked what I saw from Medlen last night, but I wanna see how he does when he starts a game.

Also, Price's gf (from K-state, lives in vegas, and best friends w/ KIV) friends just tweeted the program how those two are dating and how it would be a perfect fit.

The thing with Ventura last night is he wasn't really getting hit hard. On several of those hits Pittsburg got with runners on they where the ground balls you want in that situation, they just found a hole. He's still off, but I don't think he's as far off as last night's score would indicate. With the excess pitching we have with Medlan and Vargas coming back I'm perfectly fine sending him down for a few weeks and have him run the train on some AAA hitters to get his swagger back.

We'd only have him for the next 3 months so I'm not sure how much to give up. This would be very similar to the Sabathia and Lee trades from a few years ago. The Brewers and Rangers were able to pull those deals off with prospects so who knows what it'd take...

I doubt Ventura goes down, he'll get a few more starts to come back.  And Sat. is his bobblehead night.

I don't know a lot about when you can/can't send people down and junk but I just assumed everyone suggesting we'd send him down for a non-rehab start was trolling and/or dumbasses. maybe I'm the dumbass though?

I don't know if the Royals can send him to the minors or not, either.

I'm pretty sure he has options available. If he doesn't obviously you don't risk him on waivers.

Yeah, they should definitely send him down. Give him another shot when the rosters expand in September.

We can send him down with no risks and probably should.  Sending him down will be better than the pen.

sending him is logical in the sense that they have more pitchers than they can keep and he's one of the few they can move off the 25 man without losing them.

i dunno if it makes sense in terms of helping him get better.  by his peripheral stats, he really hasn't pitched poorly.  not very different than last year.  but if the one poster is right that he's having trouble throwing his breaking pitch where he wants to, then it'd make sense to send him somewhere where he can just concentrate on his mechanics and not give a crap about whether he gets hit or not.

I like how when Fitz says "friend of mine" he just means "waitress I used to give money to"
