na man. na. let Herrera/Davis do the 8th/9th and use the rest of the pen more situationally. Like, there's no rule that says you have to do a 7th/8th/9th inning guy. mix and match Greg, Hoch, Madson etc. in the earlier innings in close games. If Greg starts getting K's again and looks like the guy we know, move him back to the 8th or whatever

the good news..... If holland is gonna have an outing like this, it's nice to have it come when we were up 6 runs.

This is the 3rd time this year when Holland has had 5 days or more off between appearances.
His first was fine. He pitched on 5 days rest, got the save in a hatless 9th vs Oak April 17
The last 2 have been shaky. He gave up a 2 run HR and only retired 1 of the 4 batters he faced in the blowout loss to NYY. And then tonight, 4 hits and a walk

4 non save appearances this year... 2.1 innings, 6 hits 3 walks 5 ER
12 save opportunities.... 13.0 innings, 3 hits 7 walks 1 ER

i only flipped it over in the 9th and it was the brewers broadcast and they said his name about something in the postgame, so i ran with it

I'm not thrilled with how he looked like tonight. I'm not gonna over react either.

The greatest closer of all time converted 85%-89% (depending on who you think is goat) of his saves. So we should be totally concerned about Holland (91%) working on his mechanics in the ninth inning of a blowout.

I hope Moose doesn't go 0-5 tomorrow. The tards will be demanding a Casey Kotchman callup. They're already demanding the Royals release Infante and Rios be outright released and their $18 million salary eaten, in favor of Orlando and Colon.
