I just watched him in person two weeks ago look fantastic in Chicago, and the week before he retired like 16 straight against St. Louis. He's been inconsistent. Huge difference.

He gave up a leadoff homerun in game 2 of the World Series and was great after that.

Check his WHIP. He's pitched well this year. But, he loses it when he gets in a jam or gets runners on. It's 100% mental.

It may be, but his stats for the year say his elbow loses its crap when it lets runners on. Today may be a different story though.

i dunno if the data bears out wackydave's assertion or not, but he didn't come out of this game for anything mental. this is clearly a physical issue. hopefully a minor one. but the fact that they aren't saying anything probably indicates that there is at least the potential that it's serious and they want to test something before they say anything.

His fastball was at 96-97 out of the windup. It was 92-93 out of the stretch with runners on. Yeah, it's totally his elbow.
