i want to play the Cardinals, but don't give a crap about 85 or the rivalry or whatever. it's because they suck and their 2 best players are injured. and the Giants are terrifying because they win. i mean we would roll st louis.

look at this rough ridin' guy who blew the game last night

I remember playing both these teams this year and thinking how super shitty they were. Is @michigancat going to go to the games in San Fran? :Wha:

Agreed, St. Louis would be a way better opponent, but I just don't think another I-70 Series is in the cards.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

the elite 8 run is the closest thing to this. that team played to their seed tho. the royals were the equivalent of being the 9 seed forced to play the play-in game before facing the 1 seed in the first round. also they were down by 16 with 4 minutes left in the play-in game. so this royals run is the best. but i understand if some of you hillbillies who are not from KC do not understand. i've spent 22 years in KC, only 5 at k-state.
Nothing tops this. Already bigger than winning a super bowl to me. Winning two series is much more impressive than winning 3 football games in a row.

Kstate stuff comes in a distant third.

Ned said Danny Duffy is 100% healthy  :sdeek:

i've posted on this topic several times, but it understandably gets lost in all of the beating the crap out of everyone all the time euphoria.  the message that he is healthy has been consistent, and at least to me convincing.  i posted a podcast that interviewed a pitching mechanics guru that talked about how mumped up his mechanics were in his two starts after coming back from the shoulder thing.  but the guy did not think that the injury caused the mechanics breakdown, he thought it was just fatigue.

For me, this is the tops, however a football KSU Natty would equal it. I freaking love KSU, I mean love it. I was telling Mrs. CF3, that part of how I got to be such a diehard KSU Cat was that my time in Manhattan (2001-2007) was the suckiest of times for the Royals. Being at the 2003 Dr. Pepper was just amazing, and my favorite memory as a student. And even though we were just a pud NIT team, being in Manhattan during that year with Hugs was so fun. But this is my favorite time ever as a sports fan. I look forward to the day where we win a National Championship in Football, and talk about how it was compared to the Royals World Series.

Fire Ned now so this team has a chance.

 :D

That is fantastic.  :)

So, when the Royals thing, will it be the pinnacle for you as a sports fan? Surpass 03/12 football titles, sweet 16, or titletown year?

I mean, I've never posted on a Royals BBS (and probably never will), but this (winning the whole damn thing) is going to be hard to top.

This thread is better than any Royals BBS I've seen. By like, over a million dollars.

Anyone who thinks I'm being unreasonable for being angry with shields is dumb.  We've completely lucked out with way above average run support in his starts.  His peers are grossly outperforming him and it bothers me.  As far as I'm concerned we can start Ventura/Duffy/Vargas/Guthrie and throw his sorry ass in the bullpen. This is the rough ridin' playoffs and you need to step up and do your rough ridin' job or gtfo.  He needs to hold a press conference to tell the fans not to call him BGJ because that moniker is a rough ridin' joke.

Every time you make a dumb post like this, half of the board immediately does this.

The other half goes like this, laughing at you, not with you. AT you.

News flash. All starting pitchers (currently still alive) have sucked, except for Madison Bumgarner for San Fran.

Deal with it.

Cartier, where did you find that first sweater? I'm giving Ms. Wacky a Christmas idea. We can be twins next spring.

I agree. I'm good with World Series gear because either way it will be cool to wear after. And by "either way" I mean "after we win the whole damn thing".

Ok I'm gonna wait on a hoodie, but I am gonna end up with a new hoodie. I have my Dick Howser jacket to wear to the games anyway.
