Listen, if Vargy gets bombed, we'll all grab a cheap cold one and blog about it here and destroy his decision to use him. But the call has been made. We have an ELITE LF and CF, and its a pitchers park. We have a full, rested pen with FHDH, and I'd imagine our guys are loose and relaxed.

Let's remain upbeat, because we just need 1 out in LA.

Ned said something about Vargas having experience and a good record in the ball park. Seems dumb, but yeah.

Ned's priorities when making important decisions are completely backwards. It's always been that way though, that's what makes him a bad manager. I knew that Vargas was going to get the rock at least once in the ALDS, even though there's not a worse candidate (unless Duffy really is hurt). I'm surprised that people are surprised.

Still really excited to watch this game though.

I don't know that its overthinking as much as just relying on gut over data. But hey, he believes in his guys, and here we are.

He seems fairly smart for a baseball manager. Smart people tend to over think things. Maybe he makes decisions based more on over-arcing philosophies based on analytics/small-ball tactics/etc and less on what would appear to be the obvious day-to-day decision. But then again I don't really know what I'm talking about.

I am not a huge fan of Ron Darling's voice and speech patterns, but he is knowledgeable. Cal Ripken is a wonderful man, but goodness he is boring.
