Prolly luked but the Sal vs Cain videos are quite fun

http://www.kansascity.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/ball-star/article2481205.html

Luking allowed for awesome Royals stuff. Remember your policy after we beat OU in Norman in 2012? Celebratory luking is actually encouraged I believe for big moments.
can confirm

So I listened to part of the game on the MLB at bat app, I heard Denny Matthews call the game tying run in the 9th. Question is what do you Royals fans think of him? I couldn't believe his call off that run, he sounded no different than if Aoki fouled out to the catcher.

Yeah that's Denny's rep, but I find so many announcers try and over do the moment with some crazy over the top call, and Denny never does. I'd rather have some one skew that way, instead of Mitch Houltis who has become an SNL skit of himself with his herp derp crap. I want to find his entire call of the game somewhere, but I loved his call of the Billy single in the first. Perfect, understated, but you can FEEL the moment. He lets the game talk. The way he uses his voice to tell the story of the line drive is awesome.

See it at about :43 of this video: http://m.mlb.com/video/v36715911/pulse-of-the-postseason-royals-win-instant-classic/?game_pk=416345

Crowd in a frenzy. If Butler does something with a 3-1 pitch, they'll get louder. LINED LEFT FIELD! And They'll Get Louder! Aoki will score, Hosmer dives safely into third, and the lead is cut in half.

On this video they have the TV call, and the radio call of Salvy's hit. I know there's a lot of Ryan hate on this blog, but I like his call. Excitement, and then a pause to let the moment be. At the end, you hear Denny summing it up "Good things seem to happen, and, again tonight" like its some random road game in June. I dunno, I kinda think Denny's laid back attitude about it all is awesome, and refreshing.

@Kim Carnes:

The family said their favorite Royals player is first baseman Eric Hosmer, so they decided to honor that in Breckin's middle name.

"Our friends were weighing in on Facebook for middle names with Salvy or Royal, but Hosmer is the one we decided," Jay Speer said.

Eric Hosmer played an amazing game for the Royals on Tuesday and played a key role in leading them to victory.

I mentioned this before, but I lived in Milwaukee for a couple years and used to listen to Euker call their games.  He is hilarious.  Just brilliant.  Totally entertains the listener.  But, most people can't pull that off.  He's a rare bird.

I think Ryan is pretty funny, and I wish he'd do more of that.

I mostly don't like Denny, because I was looking for more entertainment when we were losing 90+ games a year.  Denny is fine if we are winning a bunch.

Today and tomorrow I'm glad for west coast start times because I will be able to watch the entire game tonight and (hopefully) at least listen to the 2nd half of the game tomorrow night.

There is a bit of a comfort in a series (that I've never had as a sports fan) in knowing that if we lose (big IF) then there are still games left. My hope is for a split in LA then come home and win this thing. :D

You guys know Weaver is not some lockdown ace right? I mean, don't get me wrong, he is very good and all, but this is not some throw away game. IMO in the AL Kluber, Scherzer, Lester, King Felix, Sale, Gray, Price are all much more scary than Weaver is to me. I mean, he was 22nd in the league in ERA. Still very, very, good but we should be confident that we can score runs tonight. Also, the Angels bullpen is fine, but they don't have anyone near our big 4 (Finnegan is officially on par with HDH IMO). We should expect to get 4 runs tonight, and most of the year, 4 runs has been enough.

Now, the Angels lineup, is v  :ohno:. This team led all of baseball in runs with 4.77 runs per game (KC had 4.02 RPG) and has guys who can go yard. BUT their park is NOT a homerun park. In fact, their stadium ranks BELOW the K in terms of HR factor in 2014. IF the inevitable fly balls Vargas will give up end up at the wall and not over it, we can shorten the game and get to our pen. Trout is an elite player, and is terrifying, but he did strikeout 184 times this season.

Get a lead, play some outfield defense and we win. Vargas gives up homeruns, and we lose (maybe, I mean, we gave up 2 on Tuesday and still won). I really hope Ned has a short leash on him and if we yank him in the 4th with runners on, do something unconventional like bring in Herrera or Finnegan and not Guthrie or Duffy. If we're pulling Vargas in a close game with runners on, it HAS to be a strikeout reliever coming in.

I think we survive the Jason Vargas experience, and get to FHDH early enough to win.

Loser fanbase IMO. You can get a lower level row E ticket down the RF line for $90? good grief.

Ned said something about Vargas having experience and a good record in the ball park. Seems dumb, but yeah.

He also said he's looked really solid lately in simulation games, so maybe he knows something that we don't.   :crossfingers:

the counter to that is that vargas hasn't been good for a month and the angels hit the crap out of lefties. vargas seems destined to be meh but guthrie seems like he would be 50/50 to either be crap or awesome.

Guys, I'm trying not rant about the manager since he was the skip of the best thing ever in life Tuesday night, but my blood pressure is rising with these posts.
