I've been saying for oh, like a month, that its obvious Sal needs a day, possibly 2, off. Why trade Valencia if you're never going to use Kratz. Sal is awesome but Kratz is not a bad option for a few days here and there. I think Sal could hit more of those beautiful gap shots we saw tonight if he wasn't so run down.

Is being tired really the reason that he's swinging at pitches that bounce a foot in front of the plate? I agree that he needs days off, but nobody should swing at that pitch, under any circumstances.

I think fatigue, mental and physical, is a factor.

Guys, I'm optimistic about a 1 game wild card. Having weapons like pinch runners like Gore and Dyson, HDH, a great D, and BGJ guarantee nothing but I like our odds. The bummer is that 1 baseball game is pretty much a complete coin flip.
