86-87 wins should be enough.

If two teams out of both leagues made it to the WC over the last 10 years, one team would have made it in with 87 or less wins.

The pace of the AL's second WC has been around 85-86 wins all year. History, as you point out, would suggest that someone will get hot.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

90 wins puts us in the WC?  That's 32-19 the rest of the way.  A sweep will go a long way here.

Plus, if we can put together a good month in August, we are set up to take it with 7 games against the sox in the last two weeks.

13 games over .500 over just a 51 game span is asking a lot of this team

It's a tall order, but either the NYY, TOR, or the royals are going to pull it off.  I think this team has just as good a chance as those two.

The yanks and jays have a tough division and with the schedule being backloaded now, I think it's between us and the blue jays but hopefully they beat up on each other equally.  The price trade may come back and haunt us.

True, but they are worse at scoring runs than we are.  Their pitching has kept them in it but they play 7 against the LAA in the last 2 weeks along with a series against DET and TOR and 6 games with the As.  I personally think they will fall off

the bats have to stay hot. well, at least lukewarm..

they can't go cold like they did after the 10 game win streak and give back all this ground they've made up.

Agreed that some bats ned to stay hot. My question is this: what single change (personnel) will get us to the promised land?

ned having a stroke and somebody else filling out the lineup card every night.

They must be a bunch of FP, TC, etc that just give up and quit as soon as they get down a few runs, then things get out of hand. No leadership.
