And the Tigers are about to get back to 10 games over .500.

These have been painful losses. All 1 or 2 run games. #beroyalkc

This stretch feels eerily similar to the stretch last year in late August. We were red hot, got 8 over .500 on 8/12, won a few lost a few, 7 over .500 and we lose 7 straight, essentially ending our playoff chances. Only difference is we managed to beat Greinke somehow during this version of stinkage. Shields is officially spiraling down to mediocrity, our Davis/Holland combo is all of a sudden shakey, and the lineup is back to struggling to scrape runs across.

This sucks.

Peggy Pos of the Homestand:

Duffy continues to encourage and get better. 1st inning last night was 21 pitches, and he goes a solid 6 without any more real trouble. He looked good and has looked good all year. If he stays in the rotation (I will lose it if there's an innings limit) its the best pitcher we've developed since Zack.

Cain is hitting consistently, and is one of the best defensive outfielders in team history. His outfield instincts are flawless, and he's more patient and confident at the plate. Although he ended the game, it was a really good AB tonight in the 9th.

Dyson is, serviceable. He's always going to have struggles at the plate, and his game instincts suck. But his range in the OF, ability to get on with grounders, and steal a base make him an ok temporary solution. We still need a RF upgrade IMO tho. Biggest trade target should be RF.

are you the one that's serviceable or is it cire?  regardless, it sure as hell isn't dyson (hero).

Shield's hadn't lost a game since like the first week of may right?  Our O has sucked dick tho since we ended the streak.

Pitcher Ws and Ls mean crap. His June ERA is 4.81 following a 4.69 in May. This is a pattern, not a bad outing or 2. In April he had 38 Ks in 31 innings. Since then, 44 Ks in 64 innings. He's not walking guys but there are baserunners all over the place. Guys are hitting him, and if he's not getting Ks he's a very, very average pitcher. His ability to avoid walks allows him to eat innings even in bad games, but a 4.81 ERA is not gonna cut it when he was brought here to be our ace, and our lineup struggles to get 5 runs. If he doesn't turn it around we have little chance.

He was a victim last year, but this year he hasn't been worth the cash. :offwithhishead:

I'm serviceable. And I like Dyson, he's a Peggy Po! However we need more production out of RF, unless of course our power hitting DH/1B combo want to step up and freaking hit.

Dyson has done what we've asked him very well (except for a couple horrible pickoffs earlier this year), and me saying his spot needs to improve is really an indictment on Hosmer and Billy's lack of run production, which IS what those 2 are here for.

Cash is less valuable than what we gave up for him.

I did see he has the 3rd highest run support for an AL pitcher this year, which is pretty much the exact opposite of last year.  Sorry I don't keep the stats on the read for times like these.  I know he hasn't been great but I was just asking.

Also, CF3, next pak, we need to talk baseball.

We'll see. I mean if we made that big of a trade to play just the tip, good for us I guess. At least the royals thread has been bumped a lot this year.

well dyson plays center.  so really you're saying that cain is serviceable.  but you also had him as a peggy po.  you're contradicting yourself all over the place.

I know but I want us to upgrade RF and move Cain back over. Our regular OF has Cain in CF and I prefer him there. Aoki is crap. He's a Nancy neg for sure.

Assuming this was a good intention post, because mine was, next time I am in KC I will hit you up.  I know a fair amount about baseball and I get no valuable convos with my buds here.
