who does dayton go after? has to be a stud pitcher right?

(Assuming Dayton can coax him out of retirement...)

we need our hitters to hit the way they are capable of (they have for the entire month of June so far). that's really it.

what do you think about adding a guy like marlon byrd who could play RF/DH

i'm kinda done with aoki. and he's gone after this year anyway.

i also wouldn't mind putting dyson in CF and Cain in RF if dyson keeps hitting

Seth Smith from San Diego could be a possibility

Let's trade Billy and a bag of balls for some guy in the Pecos league who just had lasik and started juicing.

-we have an amazing rotation that (as sys pointed out) is better than last year's amazing rotation
-we have the 8th and 9th innings in the bag with Davis + Holland. we will have Chen for long relief when he is back, plus we have Crowe, Bueno, Herrerra, and if absolutely necessary, Tim Collins. Collins came in last night in a 9 run game, and recorded one scoreless inning. that's what he is on the team for. i think it's safe to say we will not see Joseph pitch at all the rest of the year. i don't even know mariota or whatever the other guy's name is.
-the defense is spectacular with the exception of aioki in right but even his not terrible
-hitting:
the catcher is the best in the AL
the 1st baseman has underperformed, but has demonstrated the ability to be the center of the offense
the 2nd basemen is serviceable, occasionally gets big hits (like last night) and is v. good with RISP
the shortstop (hitting .408 in june) is the 2nd best in the AL, behind only A Ramirez
the 3rd basemen has underperformed, but has demonstrated the ability to bring in RBIs at a good rate. hitting .234/.308/.426 with 2 HR/7 RBI so far this June
the left fielder is the best in the MLB and it's not even close
the center fielder is doing everything asked of him (hitting .310 with 28 RBI) not to mention doing crap like this 24/7/162 http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/6479266/v33775053/kcdet-cain-lays-out-to-prevent-extra-bases
the right fielder is a serviceable leadoff man, but would rather see dyson out there

two words:  we need someone with jose canseco-like power and speed

i don't keep up with america's game too much but sometimes you just have to keep it simple.  let's get a kid who can be an all-star or even get a current all-star with some speed and power ---which is a deadly combo in america's game.  honestly don't care what the kid looks like because this team is already made up of some of the rarer looking specimens in the AL.

we're all americans.

focus on their skills and disregard (for now) their other attributes because honestly they don't mean squat on the diamond.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

I'm a little bummed that I'm only an honorable mention, but I'll just keep doing my best to drive this bus and eventually take a spot.

Also, people need to stop worrying about Herrera. He's very, very good. He's not as consistent as Holland or Davis, but that's like faulting a guy for getting hurt more than Cal Ripken JR or taking less walks than Mark Quinn.

Yes, Herrera and Crowe and Bueno are all just fine relievers. Collins is a step down from them and should only get in the game if we are way up or way down (lol yeah right like we are ever way down)

that 2nd rd pick was a 1st rd talent according to most experts.

and the 4th-10th rd picks all signed well under slot. (which intentionally freed up the money to sign other guys overslot)

just because some experts (keith law lol) feel he is a first round talent doesnt constitute paying him almost twice his allocated bonus.

They'll add at least one bullpen arm.

definitely, when you are in a playoff race the first thing you should do is strengthen the strongest part of your strong strengths, so that you have the absolute strongest strong strength

If the goal is to just get to the playoffs, the Royals bullpen is up to the task and they should be looking to add some pop to the lineup. If the goal is to actually win a playoff series or two, the Royals should probably add a bullpen arm.

We're going to use a four man rotation in the playoffs, so we should have Guthrie out of the pen if we need him. I have no idea whether that would be a good thing or not. I bet he could throw pretty hard if he only needed to get three outs though  :dunno:

if anything, you use your bullpen less in the playoffs because your starters' pitch count worries are thrown out the window

would take extremely hard. he was a senior in HS when i was a freshman and he was really nice and never once did anything mean like give me a wedgie or a noogie
