Hos got kicked out tonight in the third inning for arguing balls and strikes. Spring training game--gotta love his zeal. He's ready for the season.

i do not. we're essentially counting on the same roster and pitching rotation from last year to improve significantly. sure we added some parts, but nothing better than slightly above average.

if we don't go to the playoffs this year that trade will be a total waste.

If we could stay away from the usual early season 10-15 game losing streak that would probably help the win column decently.

We have started great early many seasons, our mid season tank, then sorta kinda recover, then play well for like a week, then 2 week slump is what does us in.  IIRC we were towards the top of the division for the first part of last year, then had that garbage stretch, which mumped us at the end of the season.

This is accurate.  Although the Royals played quite well down the stretch, the midseason tank was the difference.

That said, I am optimistic about this year's version of the Royals, as long as Ned learns how to handle a bullpen, especially in the middle innings. As far as the late innings go, I cringed last night when Phys said that Wade Davis would likely be the 8th innning guy. Wade needs to go.

Solid 3rd place in the central.  If you think they have a shot at the playoffs you are really thinking with your heart and not your head.

Pitching is down from last year. Unless the bats come alive, they should go the opposite direction from last year.

Offense improves, pitching takes less drop than expected.
