Mocat, where did our offense rank last year?
Quote from: Limestone on March 27, 2014, 05:53:37 AMSolid 3rd place in the central. If you think they have a shot at the playoffs you are really thinking with your heart and not your head.Pitching is down from last year. Unless the bats come alive, they should go the opposite direction from last year.

Quote from: The Big Train on March 26, 2014, 11:25:59 PMWe have started great early many seasons, our mid season tank, then sorta kinda recover, then play well for like a week, then 2 week slump is what does us in. IIRC we were towards the top of the division for the first part of last year, then had that garbage stretch, which mumped us at the end of the season. This is accurate. Although the Royals played quite well down the stretch, the midseason tank was the difference. That said, I am optimistic about this year's version of the Royals, as long as Ned learns how to handle a bullpen, especially in the middle innings. As far as the late innings go, I cringed last night when Phys said that Wade Davis would likely be the 8th innning guy. Wade needs to go.

To provide additional incentive for victory, Major League Baseball reached an agreement with the players union to award home-field advantage for the World Series to the champion of the league that won the All-Star Game, for 2003 and 2004.[5] Since then, the agreement had been extended twice, in 2005 and 2006, and has been made permanent
