Actually that's a phenomenal value, considering its a 1 year deal for a player who will provide valuable innings, and who is suited extremely well for the K. Good move. Let's keep going.

mocat you are too silly. Even a team with that talent wouldn't win more than 145 games tops.

Hey guys,

Ready to turn up the heat?

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Everyone, except probably die-hard Royals and Red Sox fans were rooting for the Yankees in 1996.  That team was actually really likeable, and everyone who didn't love the Braves hated Atlanta.

WTF??? How could you not like the 90s Braves?  Chipper Jones, Smoltz, Glavine, Maddux, Andruw Jones, The Crime Dog, and then John Rocker in the late 90s

sonovabitch must have been studying his videos after he got traded to Atlanta. Dickhead Padres trading to another NL West team to spite California's studliest NL franchise, just an awful trade by San Diego.

We have a ton of money locked up in guys who are #5 starters (at best) this year. If we didn't have Hoch, Davis, and Chen on the books, then we could have had Vargas + Jiminez or Santana. Dayton doesn't ever seem to be able to use his limited resources efficiently. I like Chen though, he should still be worth somewhere over 1 WAR this season, so not a bad signing in a vacuum. Unfortunately roster moves don't take place in a vacuum.

WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD IT BE BETTER TO SIGN A PLAYER IN A VACUUM? THAT WOULD TOTALLY "SUCK"

I think having Bonifacio as a "super-utility" guy would be great, and worth the $3.5m because of Cain's injuries.  But I heard that part of his issue in Toronto was that he wasn't okay in a non-starting role.  I think we're going to end up dealing Boni and then Hoch Davis or Coleman, because there just isn't room in the bullpen for all 3.

Good to see oscar Chen back in the fold, especially with Santana continuing to over-value himself in the free agent market.
