I think its somewhat fair to say that Joe Pos was once the D Scott of the Roys.

Anyway, this is enjoyable: http://sportsworld.nbcsports.com/posnanski-royals-win-world-series/

wow!

I pretty much cried at this:

“You tell your mother-in-law that we did this for her and all the fans who never stopped caring and believing,” he said.

Is that math right?  1 in 34.7m?  I want to use that stat for conversation piece.

The math is right, but it's only an accurate figure if you believe in Fangraphs' ability to place an accurate win % in the first place.

the math is nothing close to correct.  even mocat would get closer.

What number are you getting?

the 1 in 34.7 million is for the prob of winning 7 of 7 games in which their lowest win expectancy were the listed %s.  the royals didn't win 7 of 7 of that group of games.  they won 7 of 12 games in which they had a win% below whatever the arbitrary win% cutoff was that includes those games but excludes their other 4 wins.

The Royals did win all 7 of those games, unless ESPN is lying. Assuming those percentages are accurate, the odds of coming back and winning all of those 7 games are 1 in 34.7 million. It's a pretty meaningless stat, though.

I usually enjoy these but for some reason it's not doing anything for me this time around. I'm sticking to happy Royals player/fan pics

Salvy really is a master with that jug.

Well, he has had the opportunity to practice it about 200 times over the past 2 years.

Eric Hosmer had 17 freaking RBIs in the post season. That's a ton of them.

Salvy is a god damn treasure. He could be a .200 hitter and still be a Royals legend.
