I consider Bo to be the best athlete ever. That aside, I was making light of people bitching about prospects from different years. And FYI Bubba was a high school kid when we drafted him, don't you think two years later might be a bit premature to start calling him a bust? This board's treatment of baseball is only slightly better than GPC's coverage of recruiting. Whole lotta dumbasses talking about stuff they have extremely limited knowledge of.
The thing that worries me most about bubba actually is his age. rany talked about it a lot leading up to and following that draft. bubba was 19, he was held back a year. and prospects who get drafted at 17 and 18 are more successful on the whole, than older hs prospects like bubba. their peak years are shortened, and if they take a lot of time to develop like bubba, it's even more pronounced. he's 2 months older than bryce harper for instance. bubba probably won't make the big club for another 3, maybe 4 years, at that point harper will probably already have 4 or 5 hundred career rbi's.. i know harper is an outlier, and bubba was always thought of as a long developing prospect, but due to his advanced age his slow development is cause for concern.
