Mellinger destroys Yost (gonna be the talk of all the shows tomorrow, unfortunately, given the great win):

http://www.kansascity.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/sam-mellinger/article1306960.html

Doesn't even mention the asininity that prevented a downtown ballpark. At least 20,000 there tonight if they're walking back to the Union Station parking lot.

This is the reason that it's such a temptation to second guess Ned when he makes a questionable decision, because he's such an enormous fuckface that it's hard not to hate him. He has one chance every night to give the fans the answers that they deserve (yes, deserve, we're the reason that he can be paid millions of dollars), and he usually turns it into a personal pissing match with the local media. When we're doing well he can't even get it right. We win on a walk off homer and he calls out the fans. What a piece of work.

I'm very concerned about tomorrow night. Hope Chen is ready to go for a few. :sigh:

Hendriks has been good at AAA this season (12-2, 2.45, 126 k's/13 BB's in 143 innings split between Buffalo & Omaha). His career major league stats: 3-13, 6.06 in 33 games. It is cause for concern. Hopefully Ventura only misses one start.

The call-up means someone has to go from the active roster before tomorrow's game. Wonder who?
You could have just skipped all of those stats and called scottwildcat a dumbass, but thanks, bud!

No because he knows Chen won't have to come in Hendriks is going at least 5 and will leave the game with the lead.

On a scale of 7-16 how big of a stud is Gordo?

He's moved up my list of favorite Royals, now only behind George, Bo and Tartabull.
When one person, for whatever reason, has a chance to lead an exceptional life, he has no right to keep it to himself.

Sad to wake up after a great royals moment and see Ned being a prick.

But that was so much fun to watch, wish I could have been with the gE Royals 1st base crew.

I don't mind Ned saying he wished there were more fans, but to use his example from Atlanta and be way wrong was stupid.

I'm over the fan thing. Mellinger is right. It takes a little more that this run to heal 29 years of heartache.

The "school night"  excuse is dumb though.

Royals: RHP Liam Hendriks makes his Royals debut after arriving in a trade from Toronto. Hendriks spent his first three seasons with Minnesota. "It'll be interesting," Hendriks said of facing his former team. "It could be really good or really bad."  :dubious:

Last night felt really good. Like, REALLY good. The 7-4 and 5-1 type wins are always a bunch of fun too, but man... It's tough to beat the feeling of a walkoff!

It kind of reminded me of the TCU game last year. I spent the whole time thinking "there's no way LHCBS is going to settle for the 40+ yard FG to win," and that's exactly what he did. Last night I found myself thinking "we're not going to wait around for a 2 run, 400' Gordo blast in the 9th are we?", but that's exactly what they did!

My one critique from last night was what the hell is up with Dyson getting picked off two nights in a row? I'm a big Jarrod fan, but he needs to cool it for a bit. He's the absolute last guy that needs to be giving away outs on the bases.

I'm tired of reading posts and articles about Ned being a villain or the thing that will hold this team back. He's pushed a lot of buttons correctly this season and deserves credit for it.

FTR, I agree with this, but I was annoyed by calling out the fans.

Fixed it. You guys are taking him out of context!

(I don't know if Spracne heard that somewhere else, or came up with it on his own, but that is awesome.)
