Duffy was heading into the meat of their order. I love him, but I rather him leave on a high note and bring in Herrera. Either way, will take!

Like 85. Still, coming off TJ and all, I thought PHing for him and turning it over to the pen made sense. Our pen is pretty good, I'm all for using them for three innings all the damn time.

I had no problem with them going to the pen. Duffy had a dead arm in his last start. 85 pitches was probably going to be his limit anyway. Duffy going 7 innings on 85 pitches was a bigger story for me than being pulled after 85. He pitched a fantastic game.

I really hope/think Shields is gonna do well tonight.

If I were a mlb manager, they only way I'd let my starter go past the 6th is if they had a no-hitter going, or if the pitch count was below 65, or if the bottom part of the order was batting for the 3rd time.

Basically, never. They have 7 or 8 pitchers in the pen. Let 'em throw!

I know our bullpen is supposed to be really good. And Holland and Davis are. But, our middle relied guys make me really nervous for some reason - Crowe, Herrera, Coleman, Collins, etc. I dunno, don't trust em. would prefer to see 7 solid, hand it off to Davis and Holland for the close.

Either way, great to see Duffy in top form. dude was a machine last night.
