The banner sends a bold statement.  Gets people talking.

"Gets people talking" is like spending money on "raising awareness" for cancer.  Waste of money.

YES!!!  A BANNER!!!  WE'RE TALKING!!!

If only we could "Get people talking"  we could change this team with a "bold statement"

You and cancer need to get a effing room.

Pete used that one already

So, at the minimum, it shows serious dissatisfaction with the current group of coaches.  Now, let's hear why you're so against the idea.  Other than it doesn't do anything to promote people getting cancer.
Outside of my cancer love?  Man.  Hard to think of a good reason.  It's like a political bumper sticker.  No one will change their minds and people will end up rallying around the coaches.  It will backfire.  Have you EVER changed your mind about ANYTHING because of a banner or bumper sticker?

I really doubt many people will be "rallying" around the coaches if we continue to field the same product we've seen the past couple of weeks.  Of course there are going to be the Snyder and Co. die hards who will blindly ride the ship all the way down.  But, there are also quite a few people who fall in the middle.  Those are the people who like banners.

Limestone, if Cancer asked Cartier to give him a steamer, do you think he would do it, or do you think he would refuse 'cause he knows he wouldn't ever be able to shake the mental image of Cancer being a huge whore and he just loves Cancer too much to risk that?

I just don't see how the banner accomplishes anything productive :dunno:

I mean, I did for Prince, but Bill is a whole nother animal.

He would absolutely do it.  I'd be shocked if he hasn't already.  THAT'S TRUE LOVE.

Since OBZ clearly wouldn't be able to read a sign in the sky due to his advanced age and likely poor vision, wouldn't this be leaving it to chance that whoever had to tell bill what it said would say something like "umm it said here is to another ten years LHCBS".

This.  My guess is there are lots of people who are all WTF but don't want to be the black sheep in there KSTATEO family who disparages Snyder.  The banner will let those people know that it's ok to have those thoughts and express them.

And CartierFor3, if I don't shatter my glass jar which contains my giant cancerous ball when I take it upside Dobbie's head, you're next.

I would welcome such an event, because, as you put it, I'm a cancer lover, since I'm not of the belief that pink sweat bands worn by the Green Bay Packers actually DO anything for breast cancer.

Obviously, Pink "save the ta-tas" T-Shirts and pink baseball bats used in MLB are single handedly bringing down the cancer rate 22% by the day.

Fly your banner, it'll "wake up the fanbase"

So that proves it!!!!  If Texas can hold Baylor to 3 in a quarter on a day a banner flys, it MUST mean that banners work!!!!

It's that time.

There will be plenty of info on here about that this week.  Sit tight.

Concerned about the night game next week.  When will a banner be flown when it is seen by many people.  Game wouldn't have started by 6:15 but warmups will have and there will be some in the stadium and many will be at tailgates.

The timing of the flyover would work out fine.  I think law mandates it's done 1.5 - 2 hours before gametime.  The plan would be for it to make passes over both sides of tailgating.

biggest disappointment today...

driving into town, seeing the flying banner, getting excited about & trying to imagine what it said and whether it was going after cosh or snyder, then seeing it was not a goEMAW banner   :frown:

Banners cost around $1500 depending on who you know.

Texas fans flew a banner to fire Greg Davis today at the Baylor Game stating: "Greg Davis in not our Standard"

Lin kto the discussion:
