American hero, Bradley Manning was found Not Guilty of aiding the enemy  :D

.....but guilty of basically every other charge and will more than likely spend the rest of his life in prison  :frown:

Well, this thing just went in a weird direction.  I mean if you're gonna switch genders it might as well be right before a lengthy trip to prison.

So, this is a play to get special secure housing/cell of some sort, right?

I imagine he'd have a secure cell/protection with or without this. This is Obama's chance to do some actual good and pardon him/her

Maybe he could get sent to women's prison after his transformation is complete or something. :dunno:

He did nothing wrong. No information he leaked led to the deaths of any Americans. He's in prison yet nothing happened to the people that committed war crimes that he exposed

This is what I think he's going for. If he wants to be a woman, put him in the general population and I'm sure he would be treated like one.

He leaked classified stuff.  This wasn't war crime info that the world needed to know about.  I am not saying he deserves 35yrs, but he sure deserves something.  A pardon would be a horrendous move for future.

lol @ the bolded statement. His 9 month stay in solitary was described as this....

Quote
UN special rapporteur on torture Juan Mendez found after a 14-month investigation that Manning's treatment at Quantico was cruel, inhuman, and degrading. Lind said the conditions had been "excessive" in relation to the government's legitimate interest in holding Manning.

Almost 3 years total in prison. I think he's been punished enough

Leaking classified information that could potentially lead to the death of US citizens is doing nothing wrong? Sure, nobody actually died. That is why he was only sentenced to 35 years. Anyone guilty of war crimes that he exposed should be in prison, too.

That's a pretty dumb article, EllRobersonisInnocent.

lawyer types- is there a "no harm, no foul" law/precedent out there? could be a good place to start.
