With Greenie's tough love, I fully expect Sprads to look like a white Irving by X-Mas.

A lot of this purely hypothetical discussion revolves around some points that have already been brought up in this thread:
1) who refs these  games.  NBA refs are going to give the nod to NBA players, no doubt.  how about a mixed crew of 50% Nba refs and 50% CBB refs?

2) our freshman vs NBA players.  let's make this little session take place after SATAN has had a month with the freshman and then see what kind of impact that training has on the new kids.  i have a feeling we'll be singing Boyz II Men songs all night because those freshman will be men and they'll be singing the Motown Philly in harmony by that point.

3) Beaz.  sorry bro, Beaz you have to sit out.  Same with all of our other NBA stars.  no cat on cat bs.

4) the "D" stands for DEFENSE.  martin has these guys playing with so much defensive tenacity that no NBA team (including the good ones) will want to bang with our bigs.

5) the Spradling Effect.  the kid can stroke it from downtown.

6) unknown, misc type stuff that always happens

7) NBA coaches afraid to coach against Frank Martin and instead try to coach around him.    :nono:

sd i agree about the freshman and i think southwell with his enormous wingspan will be able to shut down the other teams best player...i think the real question is who wins between the lakers and the cats in a seven game series...
pg- fisher vs pullen- huge advantage cats
sg- kobe vs whoever we play here- kobe knee is still messed up so i say this is prolly a push
sf -artest vs southwell-their basically the same player but southwell can shoot better
pf-kelly vs gasol-this might be the only spot the lakers have an advantage
c-asprilla vs bynum-again bynum has a bum knee and asprilla has great touch around the basketball
bench-kstate is deeper and has more heart
and of course the ood will kill the staples center

so i think we win the series in 7 but just my opinion  :dunno:

the dumbest post i have EVER read. so an elite 8 college team could beat the 2 time repeat NBA champions?...LOL. Kobe with NO legs could drop 40 on our team without trying.

kobe = overrated and no defense whatsoever.

Are our guys going to have to go to class like in their regular college schedule or are we assuming that they get to practice 24/7 and beef up on protein shakes and egg whites and orange juice all day long like NBA players?  Because, this could tip the scales in our favor a bit if we get a "level playing field".

Clearly the KSU Katz would go no worse that 12-12 vs the bottom half of the NBA.  We're talking about the BOTTOM half fuckfaces.  I'd put money that they'd win 60-70% of those games.  I think a better question is how well the Katz bball team would fare against the bottom half of the NFL in some American football contests.  I say they'd win a solid third of the games.  There is a clear disadvantage in the Katz players having to play both offense and defense... iron man football if you will.  KSU is really good at defense, though.  And Greenwald is really badass and stuff so I think they are conditioned for it.  I heard KSU got some big stud player from Florida State... Freddy Astrillo.  He is REALLY big, so I'm sure he'd be good at football.  Also, it helps to have a tall guy play quarterback, and we have a lot of those on the bball team.  If Denny Clemint was still on the team I'd say the Kats would win more like 50% of the games because he is really fast.

the question is moot.  our non con is decidedly more difficult than this imaginary competition which you have concocted.

Let's see. Those teams of a roster filled with NBA players. K-State may have three, four tops. It would be ugly, kind of like the Cats playing a NAIA team. Get real.

Right now Frank and the kazzu qhatz have that #3 preseaon ranking and big XII pre-season champions rankings.  The target's on their backs, they're everybody's super bowl.  In this NBA hypo, the target's all on the NBA teams.  Khatz get to play in their favored underdog role.

Plus, you have to take into account the 6th foul that all of the players get.  Imagine Wally last year if he got to have 6 fouls per game -- that's like another 2 minutes of Wall-E dominance my friends.

Yes, I think the Khatz would challenge for the mythical league title in this NBA hypothetical.  .600 winning percentage?  AT LEAST.

Why even talk about the Lakers?  Qhatz win that game by default after Artest and co. are ejected from entering the stands to attack section 17ers.  If Artest can't handle a beer thown on him, how's he going to handle hot pennies and nickels being thrown at him all game long?

Has anyone even thought about the NBA players we are going to "face up against" not being qualified?  I mean, these guys could very well have never sat foot on a collegiate court because of their feakish dumbsness.  I think we could fight our way threw those players as the morbidly dumb seem to not make their way to the NBA via back channels as much as they used to.  But, you never know.  I'm just trying to clear up a lot of hypotheticals here, you know?

Great points here, guys, except for those deluded chumps who think we'd be lucky to win even a third of the games.

As anyone who's bothered to watch even 2.5 minutes of NBA basketballing would know, the NBA is an extremely INDIVIDUAL game. It's all clear out and let some prima donna like Kobe or LeBron take his guy to the hoop.

Well, it's not news to real K-State fans that these are the types of teams that Kazzu head coach Frank Martin feasts upon. He gets an extra spring in his step when he sees 'em on the schedule.

EXAMPLE:  KU 2008.  Brandon Rush. Mario Chalmers. Darrell Arthur. Cole Aldrich. Other NBA stars. Came into Bramlage playing their flashy NBA-style individual games and left big, big losers to Frank Martin's inspired rag-tag group of team players like Darren Kent and Sweet Lou Colòn.

EXAMPLE:  Texas 2010.  Rick Barnes brought his team full of lottery picks into Bramlage and got run around the gym by Frank's TEAM FIRST team.

K-State plays a team game.  The NBA doesn't.  The NBA would be lucky to beat Frank once or twice in ten tries.

Just IMHO, guys. Just IMHO.

Reminds me of the good ol' days of the DoD.  Did you know our o-line would have been the second largest in the NFL at one point?  Our o-line got freaking NFC (or AFC, can't remember) championship rings without even playing a game!!!
