flattered but i'm not drinking the kool aid. i think what K-State fans are getting a glimpse into, is how these preseason rankings come together.
one or two respected outlets will release their top 25 and then everyone else just follows suit, maybe moving a few of the teams around. the snowball just starts rolling down hill.
Texas was preseason #3 last year, UNC and Illinois were preseason top 10. we have a lot of questions to answer going into this season, hopefully Frank isn't too wet behind the ears and doesn't fall into the hype.
It's interesting that the coaches think so highly of K-State (also considering the Big 12 coaches' pick). I wonder if Frank is well-respected in the coaching community and this has picked up some votes for K-State.
Of course, at a lot of places, the SID or basketball ops guy is the one who actually fills out the ballot.
I would expect to see us lower in the Big 12 media and AP polls. KU will get more first place votes, if not be picked to win the Big 12, and it will be closer in the AP poll as well (depending on any new Selby info).
