Love A&M's court as well. Celtics also. I really liked the octagon-shaped wood.

I would rather have HD big screens to replace the crap ones we have now, instead of a new court. Would be an amazing difference.

You don't have big HD screens and ribbon around the arena??? Jeez, K-State is so 20th century.

Ribbons are overrated. Used primarily for advertisements. I wouldn't know where we would put one anyway?? No upperdeck

the best part of this thread is the budding ew vs. kougs rivalry.

Meh, that's a pretty ancient rivalry, actually, dating back to when the parking garage design first came out. We renew it from time to time, usually over design stuff like this.

I like the ribbons, it really helped out Hilton's appearance inside; along with the LED screens.

stop it w/ the goddam different shades of wood.

Shades of wood are sweet.

I'm a fan of the shades of wood as well. Really like A&M's court.

A&M is one of the very few that pull it off. Look at ND as an example as trash.

Anti-powercatters,

One of our legal assistants' kids' school had "college day" last week in which they could wear any college gear they wanted rather than their school uniforms.  Her 2 kids knew nothing about colleges/sports.  They were given a handout to show their parents what was up.  The handout had the KSU, ku and WSU logos on them.  She asked the boys which school's gear they wanted to wear.

They picked KSU.  Why?  The Powercat reminded them of the Transformers logo.

So there's that...

I agree. Sashes on the other hand are significantly and sadly underrated. Not to mention underutilized.

There's something about somebody's granddaughter that could easily be incorporated into that midcourt circle.

That looks pretty BA Trim.  The flashes from the media would make this court light up on National TV.

Not mine.  Wabash's.  I'm just making an insidery joke comment about the namesake.

That's ok.  Just don't let it happen again.

Great stuff wabash909.  Excellent designs.  My only interest would be seeing octowood with those concepts.

BTW, resurfacing a NCAA court costs in the neighborhood of 25-30K.

Usually, it's broken down, shipped to court refinisher, sanded, painted, finished, sealed, then re-shipped and assembled on site.  Takes about 3-4 weeks.

That's why you see Okie-State and bunch of other BCS shools that actually care about athletics department brand image, rebrand their courts like every couple of years.  It's an easy process, and relatively inexpensive.

Why K-State has not done it in like 10 years, I have no idea.
