I'm not too cool to admit it, it bugs the crap out of me too.

A kid I worked with said when he would teach his classes he would take note of the ones doing it and use that to determine borderline grades.
It's necessary to shut the professor the hell up.

Why do you assume I was an early pack-upper?
Quote from: ew2x4 on February 08, 2010, 11:54:26 PMIt's necessary to shut the professor the hell up. This. Five minutes before the end of class, and you're probably a frat boy/stoner douche bag. But the last 90 seconds is a paper-shuffling/backpack-zipping free-for-all.
the early packer uppers usually woke me up from whatever dream I was having at the time which I appreciated because I would then have enough time before getting out of my desk to clean up my drool which at this point was all over the desk I was sitting in.
why are you in a hurry to get to the next class you're going to hate?
I did this at a meeting yesterday afternoon. Started doing the thing where you tap your stack of papers on the table to get them all lined up.

At our office, the paper-shuffling and backpack zipping is replaced with the sounds of blackberries clicking and scrolling. If someone runs three minutes over, it sounds like a 1930s newsroom.
