That late in the game, it would have been a reasonable risk to take.  Yeah, you're a man down but the dude just may miss the PK or the goalie may get lucky.

a weak back line made even weaker by an injury 10 minutes in and a Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) decision by the coach to replace the injured player with the worst possible choice.  Mexico has some good players but to give up 4 goals, even with a depleted back line, is inexcusable.  Bradley should be fired but he won’t. 

Adu, Donovan and Dempsey all looked good.  everyone in the defense behind them looked terrible.  coach's son looked terrible all tournament.  Jones didn't look great.  it's hard to play w/ the 2 of them together in midfield as they offer little in the attack.  but the back 4 is so bad you have to protect them with that extra layer of defense in front of them.  but Jones and Bradley did nothing to help them.

I Feel great for Mexican fans who should all feel excited about a team with an incredible attack.  They have some of the same problems in defense as USA but seem to have a little more depth and a better defensive midfield to take some of the pressure off of them.

since the successful run (is winning 2 games against Egypt & Spain considered a successful run?) in the Confederations cup  the USA has been pretty bad.  a lot of this is due to injury and a lack of depth: Onyewu, Holden, Davies, Jones were all potential starters going into the World Cup last year but were unavailable due to injury.  Jones is the only one back in the team and he hasn't proven to bring too much to the table.  i guess it's hard to be too tough on Coach Bradley given this rash of injuries but I have no faith in him regardless of the player's he has available for selection.

Didn't think he was bad all tournament but Maurice Edu should be starting in front of him.

i've watched more games than i've missed probably.  women's soccer is great - for the casual viewer i don't think there's a major sport with a smaller gap between the men's and women's game.

+1 if you ardently watch soccer and don't watch the WWC then you are simply a mouthbreathing sloped foreheaded sexist.  The skills displayed is nearly identical without all of the ridiculous flopping.

That's absurd.  They'd lose by double digits, the ball skills are identical, there is obviously an ocean of difference physically.  There isn't a men's keeper in the history of the world that would have saved Heather O'Reiley's goal in todays game.
