Probably a pretty noob thing for me to say but I think it's pretty neat how many foreign sounding names we have one the US team.  Melting pot and all that.

i'm glad nobody was able to talk me down.  holy crap this team is rough ridin' awful.  michael bradley (as usual lately, it seems) was about the only person who didn't seem to crap their pants when he got the ball.  lichaj seemed to do alright - i admittedly haven't seen him play much for villa but at this point, he seemed like a decent option back there.

should've ended about 5-2 or so.  i can't see us being better than about any halfway serious team in any position groups from here on out - bob bradley better hope the tophat embedded firmly in his ass is fully stocked with rabbits.

I can't believe the suckers in Kansas City gave that shitty performance a standing ovation.  I wish this was in LA or DC, that garbage would have been booed off of the pitch.   I wouldn't be so frustrated if this was a team that should be in a 1-0 game against Guadaloupe, the talent while not great is so much better than that.  Bradley is so stale and his players won't play for him, they look bored.

BTW I'm sick of watching Dempsy go down like a Spainard every time someone gets within 5 feet of him.  Has there been a time since the Confed Cup that he's had the ball at his feet and didn't end up on the ground?

He didn't end up on the ground when he had the ball at his feet like 6 ft from the goal.   :shakesfist:

Meh, the finishing was insanely bad, but other than that I thought it was a decently entertaining game to watch.  I wish they would have shown the Can/Pan game though.

They should really replace Bradley before qualifications start for the world cup.  The team needs some sort of identity and he obviously doesn't have the answer. He was a safe choice, but they continue to personify mediocrity.  There has to be someone better for the right price.

The Good:

Jozy is really starting to show what he can do when he's physical and confident. Cherundolo did really well tonight, he was all over the place. Bedoya came in for Wondolowski and did a great job.

The Bad:

Wondolowski.  I am not a fan. He may prove me wrong, but I just don't like him and his face annoys me.  Dempsey also sucked/was annoying, but it's hard to completely turn your back on a guy with that much talent.  I feel like if he went all out he would be amazing to watch, but lately it seems like he just wants to walk around and fall down a lot unless there's a good chance he'll score.

Jamaica is playing really well so the US could be bounced easily if they don't step it up.  If they lose I hope Bob is canned.

How does the Gold Cup bracket work?

How does the Gold Cup bracket work?

Not exactly in bracket form but you can see the rest of the schedule here:

http://www.goldcup.org/page/GoldCup/LiveConsole/0,,12802,00.html

Basically if we win against Jamaica, we'll play the winner between Panama & El Salvador. If we win that we will most likely play Mexico in the finals.

-Lichaj needs to be our everyday LB. His attack paired with Dolo made us pretty dangerous.

-Wondo should never earn a cap for this team again. Agudelo would have been so much better last night.

-Off games for Bradley, Demps (good lord) and Landycakes. Obviously not the norm for them.

That said, Guadeloupe is just god awful, and we should have won at least 3-0.

It needs to be Altidore and Agudelo up top going forward.

MIR is the most angry BBS'r in the history of the world.

I had a blast last night. Very frustrating at times. Dolo gets man of the match for me, his runs were amazing. Wondo needs to be gone, just like Ream (not even on the 18 anymore?). Just last year we had Buddle and Findley, its amazing how fast we run through strikers up top w/ Jozy. One of them has to stick. Crowd was bananas, hopefully we get more games there.

Cherundolo is amazing.  it was just something like 2 years ago when everyone thought Spector had replaced him at right back.  but Stevie is now playing the best football i've ever seen him play.  it will be hard for anyone in the system to replace him until his legs give out.

the crowd was fun last night and that is a class venue.  the standing O i think had more to do w/ the experience in general and the appreciation for the opportunity that was given to KC to host this game.

It's amazing how much better Michael Bradley is than everyone else. Altidore and Dempsey (barring last night) are obviously the biggest threats to score, but Bradley is miles ahead of anyone else in that team. He almost looked Paul Scholes-esqe at times.

Wondolowski is terrible.

Jones is garbage. Why doesn't Edu-Bradley or even Klejstan-Bradley not start in CM?

If Dempsey puts 2 of those 5 or 6 clear chances in, we aren't complaining today.

That said, Bob Bradley isn't improving this team. We need a Guss Hidink.

Agreed. That passion that he showed in the world cup isn't there. The "I let my team down, so I'm going to take over this crap" attitude isn't there. Complacency from playing in the MLS? He should have stayed at Everton

i thought it was obvious after last year's world cup that Edu/Bradley was the best pairing if you wanted to play 2 defensive minded center mids.

hopefully by the next world cup Holden and Davies will be healthy and in form. then the midfield + forward pairing would be Donovan/Dempsey/Bradley/Holden in the midfield and Davies/Altidore up top.

i really want to get timothy chandler cup-tied

him, dolo, lichaj, and boca going forward would be good for me until we need to replace boca

I think donovan was blocked from going back to Everton by the Galaxy. Its a shame, because not only did they love him over there, but he was so much better.

As i stated before, Lichaj, Chandler, Diskerud, Agudelo, Jozy, Holden, Edu, Bradley, Bunbury, and (please god) Davies are the future, and I feel pretty ok with that. We just need a few more pieces and a new coach. I really wish Subotic and Rossi weren't world-class fuckheads, because that would put us in pretty good shape.

that was my point.  if you were going to play to defensive mids then why not use a combo you know works well w/ Edu/Bradley.  i think Jones is a more talented player than Edu but maybe he just doesn't fit in as well at this point.

The USA also needs to find and groom some proper wingers. I don't think we've ever had a real out and out winger.
