Why wouldn't Quinn want to play for us?

Do we know if he has a favorite at this point?  He can step in and start right away most likely.

I think we have a couple issues here:

a) I don't think he likes us
b) we may have a myscommit already at PG for this class

We really need to have a better nickname than "a-rod-tri."  It just doesn't flow, ya know?

Specifically say how it would be a dream to be a guard in Frank's offense, so much freedom to run and gun.

Dalonte Hill encountered the stress of game planning, practice and film sessions but also worked on the recruiting trail. In a move to build for the future while laboring in the present, Hill phoned Quinn Cook, the 20th-ranked prospect in the 2011 Class, frequently during the Wildcats' run to the Elite Eight.

not cook.  cook's aau coach.  who, imo, would be considerably more likely to commit to kstate.

if he waits until spring we have about a 0% chance.

But yeah, this is the first evidence that someone from KSU is recruiting that we've seen since Maymon.

All inclusive list of uncommitted 11's with K-state mentions.

Quincy Miller
Quinn Cook
Ben McLemore
Ryan Boatright
Angel Rodriguez
Thomas Gibson
Nino Williams

I'd be happy with any 4 of these, but is there any chance at all this class doesn't end up as Angel, Nino and some big we've never heard of?   :blank: Somebody please convince me....

Finally, sounds like K-State is still in good shape with Angel Rodriguez, another Tropics point guard in the 2011 class.

I'd like to hire Art to roll with me for a couple days and then speak on my behalf a little bit.

Art has never lied to me before. I have no reason to not believe every word that comes out of his mouth. IMO, I think he's downplaying things a little bit regarding Freddy.

i recently stumbled across and article where art is talking about colon and he says

"Whoever gets him is going to be very fortunate. He's going to be a real good one."

He isn't bad now. Alvarez likened Colon's frame to a smaller version of Shaquille O'Neal and compared his abilities to those of former Detroit Pistons star Rick Mahorn.

"He's just physically strong," he said. "He's going to give you a double-double every time he steps on the court. He's a big-time intimidator."

and that didnt quite work out. but im looking forward to the bogota bully playing next year. him at 5 and ck at 4 could be really nice

Listen, I love the eff out of art.  He's a pro.  His job is to promote these kids.  He goes big.  Why not?  He gets some talent from time to time, you know?  We may as well get'em.  Love him. Love him.

I have a good buddy who plays baseball at Cloud County and he can't stop talking about Freddy.  He got to watch a lot of their practices.  And he uses the words "real deal" all of the time.  Says he weighs about 275lbs and that his basketball coach loves to throw out Dexter Pittman comparisons when discussing Freddy.  But claims he is much more nimble and agile. His strongest asset according to my friend is his footwork.  He claims that if Freddy catches it down low then you might as well put two points on the board.  His back to the basket moves are just fantastic. He also has a nice mid-range jump shot that he can consistently make out to about 17ft. And yeah I know he's going against god awful competition during practice, but still it's at least encouraging to hear this kind of stuff. His weakness is his defense as of right now.  Just doesn't bring 100% effort on every play, but I'm sure that will change once he starts working with Frank.

Oh and my friend also claims that a Chicago Bulls scout has been at 3 or 4 different practices checking out the big guy.  I just hope he is more successful than our last Thunderbird from Cloud County.
