sign me up for the bitchy 5 stars that can win championships.

would rather have to overlook questionable work ethic than to not make the NCAA's.

Billy Donovan, is that you?  BTW, nice work with all those 5 stars!

Thanks.  Always good to hear from well wishers.

Gotta tell you, those back-to-back NC's still feel REAL FRACKING GOOD!

Still poppin collars.

Which of your NC players were 5-Star recruits, I can't remember?

EPIC FAIL

Which ones on last year's team were?  Boynton and ????

Just STFU, sugar dick.  Your incredible stupidity is obviously an act.  No one is as genuinely stupid as you.

Pretty sure the ugly 6'5" point guard, and Chandler Parsons were 5-stars as well.

You realize there's only 25 5-stars a year right?  Just a stoopid guy asking stoopid questions, you f*cking dipshit.  We seriously need a "goEMAW approved" logo for the basketball recruiting threads.  The expectations on here are borderline Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!).

As long as we keep recruiting Rivals 150 players I'm pretty much cool with recruiting the way it is.  I'd like to see more in the top100 but whatever, don't think there that much of a difference between 50-100 and 100-150.  I'll admit the 2011 class is pretty underwhelming, but it's far from terrible.

"Hey, this 5 star player doesn't even work that hard, imagine how good he's going to be after I whip him into shape."  :dunno:

Nonsense!  If they have a history of laziness, I can't work with them!

Sincerely,

Curtis Kelly's coach

yeah, if anything our staff should be recruiting the most talented and lazy players out there given their history.

I can roll with this  :bball:

Don't they have to be transfers though?

beasley was a super-lazy head case.  Somehow he is again now that he's not playing for Frank.  With Frank, he was the greatest thing to ever happen to basketball (that I like).

To be fair, Beasley was pretty lazy when he played for Frank, he was just miles ahead of everyone else on the floor.  Dude didn't play 5 minutes of defense that entire season.  Even as a lazy head case in the NBA he's scoring 15ppg and half the time doesn't even get to play the 4th quarter.

Didn't he lead the country in rebounding?

So did Sam Perkins and Derrick Coleman

Sugar dick, Rivals ranked him higher than anyone.  (By far).

http://home.roadrunner.com/~rsci/RSCI_100_Final_2007.htm

He's less of a 5 star than Jason Bennett.

I'm gonna stop f*cking up Sys's thread right now.  You're a dumbass, we're not arguing about whether one the three 5-star players on Florida last season really deserved to be a 5-star.   Also, anyone that doesn't think Beasley is, and always has been, lazy needs to get their f*cking head checked.

My point is made.  If we don't get one of the 25 five-star players every season its not the end of the world, and the staff isn't lazy.  We've had one awesome season in the last 21 years, and our campus is 95% white.

O.k. so tell me what 5* freshmen on K-States team was a large contributer last year?  My point is that 5* have an entitlment issue and Frank will not put up with that.  I think Beasley is an exception to the rule.  I think he worked harder than most people give him credit because he was so good he made it look easy.  And I think he has a good set up with his mom moving with him to Manhattan she made sure he was putting his work in at least on the floor.

I will promise you Frank Martin can get more production and grit from a 3* that wants to be here and play than a 5* who is just using this as a stay over till the NBA.  He is building a program not a river of 1 and dones.  Don't get me wrong if we can get a Beasley every 5 years I would love to have them but that is not realistic at this stage, lets get 3-4 NCAA tournaments in a row a couple more E8's Final fours and then we will be looked at by the 5*.  KSU has still not done much on the national stage outside of one season.  Although it was a great season and next year should be just as good if not better and maybe then we will be getting more top 50 kids looking our way.

Sam Perkins and Derrick Coleman were amazing college basketball players... WTF was your point with that?  That they weren't great NBA players?  WGAF.

the nba thing doesn't even make a point. perkins and coleman were both good nba players with really long nba careers. maybe the point is that they are all about the same size/height and left handed? dunno though, that doesn't really seem like a point that someone would try to make.

Has anyone mentioned that Gipson is #70 on the ESPNU 100 list, or is this a new development?  :surprised:

Maybe we should get not-lazy but not-super-hard-working 4-stars?  :dunno:

Sam Perkins (one of my favorite players of all time) won a National Title in 1982.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

How useful are the user ratings on Rivals? Angel has an average user rating of 4.54 stars out of 5, from 46 users. Are these just GPC tards, or might they be people with some insight?

Tards.  The actual star ranking is from the people with insight.

Pretty sure I have never seen a player who wasn't granted like an additional star from the user rankings.  It's the fans doing the ranking and they tend to be a bit tard-y about them.
