yes.  but be prepared for negative recruiting.  then again, it's not like every big 120 coach isn't already telling kids to avoid kstate unless they want to be peppered with martin's spittle like a jackson pollock.

I almost asked this same question, but you obviously can.  Otherwise, if we offered ten prospects and they all committed on the same day, we would be forced to take them all.  Actually, I kind of like that strategy.

For what it's worth, Gipson only gave a "soft verbal" according to Rivals.  Diaz gave us a "solid verbal".

If the West Virginia and Baylor offers are legit, I can't complain too much.  It is a bit discouraging to see that we haven't been able to parlay our Elite 8 into upper echelon recruiting, however.

I like what I've read about Gipson, a physical low post banger who works his ass off but, man, him AND Diaz in the same class? I gotta wonder if Diaz is not a serious candidate to go to prep and reclassify.

I asked Bossi on GPC if he'd seen anything recently to change his eval of Gipson("Big 12 niche, MW ass kicker") but don't think he's going to bite.

I'm glad the kid has chosen to be a Wildcat but my gut reaction is we're taking this "we may suck at basketball but we're going to outwork your ass" schtick a little too seriously.

Where are you getting the "soft" verbal from? His profile simply reads "Committed", the story on GPC makes it sound like he's solid, and Bossi also confirmed it on GPC.

Not trying to stir crap up, I just don't see the "soft" part anywhere.

i like gipson.  think he's better than his rating, actually.  the idea of not getting a guard in the '11 class makes me physically ill.

gipson isn't a bad get.  at all.  he's much more of a known quantity than diaz.  the thing about this which is upsetting/mystifying is that it appears that it closes the door on a top-notch guard prospect for this class, which means that after jake leaves, we have russell, irving, sprads (that's my meeeee-aaaaaan tho) and juevol to run point for us.  yikes.
  
obviously frank likes that combination.  so that makes one of us.
