they are charging 80 for the CU game?

:surprised:

That was probably determined before Lew "Ticketmaster" Perkins was fired.

How is this different than KState's nine dollar tickets last year?

Did you read the advertisement?  It pretty much spells out the difference.

One was FCS UMass, one is Big 12 Colorado?  Pretty big difference.  Bigger than $16 I would figure :dunno:

Also, ours was like that preseason.  Didn't seem like a fire-sale after a 1-2 start.

So how does it compare to the 4 KSU ticket pack for 18.75 a ticket on kstatesports today? When you are 3-0? Firesale!!!

Its a package to a game this upcoming week.  Not a conference game weeks away.  If your team could sell 4 tickets at the same time, they would do it too.

You saved up your registration to this site and first post on THIS?  Damn dude....

BTW as of yesterday 600 tickets were left to this game....with a portion of those given back by UCF.....so how many groupons you got to sell before you even get within 6,000 tickets left this weekend?

Its the conference game thats also going have the lowest excitement as well. Everyone knows the KU isn't going to be that successful this year so the AD is going to put a few deals out there to get some more fans to come. Every school (except for the power houses) do it. KState does the same thing. You make the statement that the game is a week away but they also are 3-0 with a win against a BCS school and a potential Heisman candidate. KState can't sell out with that?

It's Fort Riley Day. We are trying to show support of military families, some of which cannot afford tickets because they have 3 children and have to live day to day off their spouses paycheck, who is off serving in Afghanistan and whatnot. It's for them.  Some Hawk fans just don't know get it...

Uh, try again. They have a separate deal for the military members. For the public, its still 18.75 a ticket.

Go give away a few thousand handouts to local KC companies....of course people end up just throwing those away anyways, so maybe the Groupon will give you better penetration.

Honestly I think more people are disappointed in groupon....

Quote
We sell stuff we want to buy. A great price is only half the battle - it's also got to be a great product or service. Between our top-rated business partners and unbeatable prices, you should feel comfortable venturing out and trying something new - just because it's featured on Groupon. We want Groupon to be an addiction you can feel good about.

You know what they should have done---and I'm completely serious---is a groupon for the KSU-ISU game. Because a turnout like that for a Big 12 conference game is pathetic.

a)  You are trying way too hard on this
b)  KU will only have the opponent fans or Groupon to thank to break 38k at the Memorial Track and Field center
3)  Try woot-off....putting those tickets in a Bag of Crap might work better.

No, no, no, I actually am serious. What was the biggest complaint I heard? People not wanting to spend $60 for a ticket that wasn't part of the season ticket plan and was off-campus against a crappy team. Do you not agree? I know I would hesitate to drop that kind of money, especially in this economy. What other reason is there for the small turnout? A groupon or SOME sort of deal would have helped out attendance.

No one currently associated w/ K-State cares about the turnout at Arrowhead. K-State took the guaranteed money from the deal and ran, and will not be back.

So you're just going to ignore it? Because it literally was just 3 days ago. Its not like this happened years ago.
