I would rank the 2008 Iowa flood as the 1,000th worst disastor I've never heard of

Haverhill's homeless uncle is gonna be pissed that you're mocking his underwhelming natural disaster.

I lived 3 hours away from this make believe flood when it allegedly happened and I never heard about it.

I hope your uncle was a boat salesman.

Real Estate...

If you believe that, I have some ocean front property in Cedar Rapids to sell you.

This may have saved him once the government comes to the rescue, its an election year after all. Your uncle is a lucky man.
What happened in 2008 in Cedar Falls, Cedar Rapids, and Iowa City was the second worst natural disaster in American History.

Just off of the top of my head on the "worst natural dissasters" convo...

In no particular order, except that they are all ahead of the afore mentioned Cederwhoosit flood:

Mt. Saint Hellen's

Earthquake in San Fran the first time around (entire town leveled back before talkies were the rage)

Earthquake in San Fran when it interrupted the World Series and those dudes were pancaked under freeways collapsing.

Hurricane Andrew in Florida...the one that basically removed Homestead Florida from the map.

Hurricane Katrina, the one that made people rape each other in the superdome.

Hurricane in the Carolinas that scalped the coast in the early 90's/late 80's

Flood of the summer of 1993 down the entire length of the Missisippi

That's just off of the top of my head...

Where in the Hell is Havs?  Please tell me he's not face down in some ditch along I-29.  I'm a little worried.   :ohno:

I've never even been on I-29. Find better things to worry about.

Havs you're being a little aggressive today.  What's up?  Did something happen over the weekend to change your mood?

If you consider "fire" natural, than that Chicago deal with the pyromaniac cow turned out bad for a lot of people.

And they didn't chose to live next to a river.

You can't chant "Under Water" and expect people to like you. Just sayin. People's lives were ruined.

I saw this post and could have basically written how the rest of this thread would pan out.

Things I learned about ISU this weekend:  Their football is really bad.  Their fan's are little bitches.  Their real estate brokers buy land a block from flood prone creeks.
