I used to run this little game up on the concourse before womens games where old people would wad up a piece of paper with their info on it and sit in a expensive awesome leather recliner and try to make a basket into a bucket a few feet away. Then later we would pick out a name for a winner. EVERY SINGLE TIME, I'd go find the winner and they were assuming they had just won the expensive awesome leather recliner. Instead, I'd hand them a $50 furniture store gift certificate and explain to them that they had not actually won the expensive awesome leather recliner, at which time these sweet, gentle souls would give me a look like I had just canceled Christmas.

Angel Rodriguez, a long-time target of the Kansas State basketball team, will make a visit to campus this weekend and take in the Wildcats’ Madness in Manhattan event Friday evening.

The 5-foot-11 point guard from Miami is rated as a three-star recruit by rivals.com, and shares close ties to former players Denis Clemente and Luis Colon. He is also close with current big man Freddy Asprilla.

His AAU coach, Art Alvarez, said Rodriguez is looking forward to the festivities. And if Frank Martin deems them exciting enough to show off to a recruit, they should be pretty decent, right?

Alvarez has said that Rodriguez is leaning heavily toward K-State in the recruiting process, and could make a commitment to the Wildcats shortly after seeing Manhattan up close.

Students also have the opportunity to win $10,000 and front row seats to men's basketball games this season.  Students with the most school spirit will be selected and then voted on by the crowd.  The winner receives front row seats to every men's basketball game this season and take a half-court shot to win $10,000.  Students will be selected by arriving early, wearing purple, bringing signs and being loud during the event.
