Yeah, you don't know that. For example, let's assume pods of four, and let's build a pod that has the eastern teams [WVU, UC, UCF]. Who's their fourth? Quite possibly ISU. Who's in BYU's pod? Probably not the Texas schools. Suddenly our pod is BYU, KU, OSU - potentially the toughest on an annual basis (for KU, anyway).
In my scenario, each team has a list of five annual "division" opponents, but the teams on that list don't all share the same list. For example, our list might have ISU and OSU, but those two might only play each other 2 out of 3 years. It allows for our traditional rivalries without consigning the geographically remote teams to a pod of leftovers.
