Seven weeks pass before we play TCU, and in all prior games we should be favored.

If we start ranked 15, we should be easily top 10 for that game.

OU are broke dicks so next year we'll have the same schedule but reversed. They haven't announced divisions for '24 going forth yet, but there won't be divisions.

I think divisions would be fine as long as we still kept the "best 2 teams play in the championship" regardless of division and not a "division vs. division championship"

Divisions would be fine if we rearrange the division every four years.  Records of each division should have a total win record to match and consider SOS/rankings.  Make them even or go with 3 pods of four.  Either way, the conference should end up with the two top teams in the CCG.  This should and needs to be the first part of the CFP.

You play all your pod teams, and 3 of the other two, and have it rotate with home/away and which of those 3 so you would essentially play everyone and every 4 years you have played everyone home and way, and the cycle repeats every 8 years like:

There is no god damned way they're putting BYU in a pod or division with the easternmost teams available.  This is essentially why pods are a non-starter: you'd have to anchor each with a remote team, and you end up sacrificing a regional rivalry in the process.

What I expect they'll wind up doing is crafting a list for each team of perhaps 5 opponents that they will play every year, and rotating the other four games among the remaining six opponents.  This gives the ability to optimize for travel distance and preserve rivalries.
