Arthur Brown would be a big deal right now. 

I agree.  I mean, we bitch and bitch all off season about how much of an issue our LBs are going to be....I, for one, am super duper excited if this comes true. 

I'm excited as well, but would we be better served to have Brown's services for 2011 and 2012 rather than starting this year and ending next?

On defense, it seems to me that adding a player like Arthur is supposed to be, could be the difference in some games between winning and losing, couldn't it?  I mean, that's our weekness, right? No playmakers at LB....christ, here we are with the chance to add one and we should be doing cart wheels, shouldn't we?

Butler isn't even really a LB.  He's a S we put at LB.  Arthur isn't that type of player.  Butler is pretty solid in coverage with TE or FB.

Can't think of a single instance in which a player would be eligible to play but not eligible for a schollie.  Plus, Arthur is already on scholarship.

UT wasn't going to release Brown for any reason.  That's why you go to the NCAA.  Not exactly siure why, but Bryce gave the Vols a serious case of the red ass.

Would still rather have him next year. Our ceiling will prob be a lot higher in a couple years, kinda sucks to waste a whole year for them. Not saying this is horrible by any means, interesting stuff but definitely not amazing news for the program or anything.

Based on what? It's not like we have a bunch of great QB commitments, and DT is done after this year. If AB can give us an extra win or two, this year could actually end up being pretty fantastic. I don't like trading a win today for a win tomorrow.
