Nick Wright also tells the same story.

Nick and Bomani Jones were both actual irl friends with Jason at one point. Bomani once called Jason a professional influence. Then when Jason turned Fox News and started getting those checks he completely eviscerated Bomani on air, total blindside, very early on in his ESPN career. He literally sold out his friend for a few bucks and clout. It's why his thing now, calling people who won't kowtow to the Blaze Media crowd, sellouts, is amazing in it's hypocrisy.

I swear to god I was copying this part of his post to make a similar comment to yours before I saw your post. Goddamn that's good.

My favorite part is the bit where he describes what "Kaepernick disease" is, then says it's been around for 10 years and then notes that it's basically the same thing as what LeBron and Muhammad Ali did during their careers.

My second favorite part is him saying that "Kaepernick disease" is what ruined Josh Rosen's career. Yeah, definitely that and not the fact that he was a terrible, terrible QB.

I kind of feel bad that amid Whitlock’s demon is hung financial rewards for being right wing, he now gets reply guys like this and can’t say anything without giving up the bit.

I'm legitimately starting to feel bad for him. He's now reduced to writing about cancel culture being the cause of roughing the quarterback calls. He's become the ultimate one trick pony and while it pays some, I can't imagine it's enough to have to look at himself every night. Dude used to be a top 5 sportswriter in America and now he's like a doll with a string in his back, worrying about whatever that day's current issue is and how is the fault of cancel culture.

I still choose to believe Whitlock is simply playing the role as a grift.

True. He did show undertones of this KK on 810 from time to time, but quickly turned the page, not to piss people off at 810. Now the leash is off and he's a mini Clay Travis.

I'm gonna be honest, I really miss early to mid 2000s KC sports media. You had Whitlock, Posnanski, Keitzman, Steven St. John was an up and comer in the morning, Jack Harry, it was just a great time to be a sports fan in town (except the Royals were awful)

I always enjoyed Clink
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

@mocat even invented a scale in his honor.

Clink/KK were a dream team. You had an old grump but he is pretty smart and knows quite a bit about the major sports in town, the perfect Robin to a crazy Batman like Kevin.

Does it matter? I guess in a way it makes it more sinister
