French press.

meh.  meh!

I've had it before and it was not earth shattering.  But I am not going to pay for an espresso machine until I have enough black sweaters and architecture/graphic design graduate glasses to finish the picture.

French press.

meh.  meh!

Strong possibility you are not using yours right.

I got mine because I used to go to small coffee houses often(trying things other than Starbucks).  Whenever I found one I liked a lot, I asked them how they brewed.  100% said french press.

Any one have any experience with a Nespresso machine?

Used a Krupps machine with Nespresso cartridges in Italy. It was delightful.

Really, really close to pulling the trigger, but still have concerns about durability and stuff.

My parents are getting a Keurig this christmas.  I'm curious to see how a $200 coffee machine's coffee tastes

Amazing, probably shouldn't get if you drink a ton of coffee. Works great for us though, all sorts of crap to choose from too. Tea, hot chocolate... and coffee

Have come very close to pulling the trigger on the Keurig Elite a few times.  If it wasn't for the cost involved in the pods I'd be using it now.

If you're going to get a Keurig, you'll need one of these:

Economical and environmental, if you're into Gaia.

They must be getting the top of the line Keurig. Ours was only $100.

It's great for us because I don't drink coffee and my wife doesn't want a entire pot.

French press.  Really can't beat them if you drink worthwhile coffee.

have used one every morning for years

not at all a coffee snob, just tried one as a change of pace when my last coffee maker broke.  tend to run through more coffee this way with coarser grinds, but we're all :kstategrad:

get an espresso machine.  even a cheap one that espresso snobs would tell you doesn't really make espresso.  or get a stove top italian coffee maker.  i use a machine now, and the coffee is better, but sometimes i miss the ritual of of the stove top.

i don't think what you really like is the krupps brand or the cartridge system.  i think you liked the espresso/concentrated pressure-extracted coffee style.

took a while to get past the taste of metal, but once it became seasoned it tasted good. Does anybody do this?

Interested in thoughts on daily use. Can see wanting to do it a couple times a week, but for a daily driver it has its limitations.

i'd like to try it, but i agree, it's too involved for everyday consumption.

IMHO, any Bunn coffee maker will do. I have had many brands throughout the years, but always come back to Bunn.

I am also considering putting one in my office. Then I'll have two Bunns.  :)

Love the Keurig.  I like different varieties...never drink the same variety twice in a row.
