Demarcus Robinson if he stays healthy will set some career highs. He's probably the best example.

Look what Tyreek Hill did once he got to Miami.

Tyreek Hill had almost 1500 yards with Alex Smith! His numbers went up but I am not going to allow Tyreek Hill be an example of the Chiefs sucking at developing WRs. I mean my heavens.

I think I was being sarcastic.

I think the Chiefs WR room failures are because they don't pick the right guys, not because they can't develop them. Honestly, Worthy is the only one more disappointing than their draft position would have them.

Disagree on this example.  DRob is 4 years removed from KC, and while he is having a statistically better year this year, he didn't the last 2.  Embree wasn't even the WR coach when he was on the team either.

Worthy has played 8 NFL games. He's on pace for 500 yards and 6 tds. Can we pump the brakes on declaring who he is or isn't because of a couple unproductive games?

Goodness.

Skyy moore was like the 14th WR taken on the draft.  If you expect WR#14 to have a productive NFL career, then that was your fault.

Worthy is still early, I'm just saying that Worthy is theb only day 1 WR he's taken, so he's the only one you should expect to be a solid NFL player.

Worthy is fine, but he was pretty bad on that deep ball.  He was also bad on a Mahomes pick earlier this season that he could've easily broken up but quit (I think he redeemed himself on a similar one in the next game so maybe it got fixed). He's not bad or some lost cause, but I don't trust our track record to improve him.  Rice is also fine at this point but I don't think we trust him to go downfield, just screens, slants and crosses.

I blame Embree, not some organizational failure to develop WRs.  We've seen WRs we've drafted and developed fail to line up, catch, and be in the right spots if they go further than 10 yards downfield.  Some of that could be scouting but a lot feels like details that can be coached. We've also seen Hopkins and JuJu, who were clearly not valued elsewhere in the NFL, immediately outperform guys we spend more capital on and should know our system better.

I think the Chiefs WR room failures are because they don't pick the right guys, not because they can't develop them. Honestly, Worthy is the only one more disappointing than their draft position would have them.

Skyy Moore was drafted in the 2nd round.  I expect a second-rounder to have a productive NFL career.

yes. mecole hardman's career is a located at the fat part of the bell curve for a 2nd rounder.
skyy moore is a complete disaster, and it's too bad pickens went two spots before him. i will say that Skyy was a pretty universally liked pick at the time. also i just looked up all the WR's who went after 2Y's, and it's a complete wasteland. maybe kitten mittons was banging the drum for Romeo Doubs (drafted 78 spots later) but i DOUBt (lol) it

I haven't said anything negative about Worthy, he's less than halfway through his rookie season.  I'm just saying that (save for Worthy) the Chiefs haven't been drafting top-tier guys, so blaming the receiving coaches for lesser-desired guys not panning out is pretty wild.  It's not like they've been squandering away top talent.  Sure Moore was taken in the 2nd round, but 13 other receivers were taken before him, and he's an undersized guy playing at an FCS schol.  It's a high-risk pick, and he probably would have been suited better for Veach to just see that he's not going to get a top receiver use his 2nd rounder elsewhere, and pick up a risky guy with a 3rd or 4th rounder and not a 2nd rounder.

Comparatively, Mecole Hardman was also taken in the 2nd round and was the 5th receiver drafted.

Rashee was the 7th receiver taken in 2023 and performed better than most drafted ahead of him!

Worthy’s footwork and awareness on that throw on our first drive made him look like he should’ve went undrafted

I’m starting to get frustrated with worthy

So you agree we needed to upgrade the WR room. Nice. Hopkins is fun isn't he?

No, I do not agree
