No. It just means other teams will have more money to run up the price needed to sign both Jones and Sneed.  The Chiefs will only keep one, IMO.

I would pay Sneed - he will easily transition to an elite fs in the twilight of his career.  Jones wants and deserves to be the highest paid DT so I hope we find a sign and trade or whatever that makes that happen, ideally in the NFC

I think you are underestimating how much a good pass rush can elevate dbs.  Don't get me wrong, Sneed is a stud, but Jones is more important to our defense than he is.
