Flacco at 18.5 and Keenum at 10m in dead money even if they get rid of him. A lot of money getting tied up in a position they'll still be mediocre at.

Correct. Everyone knows that is risk/reward. I think at this point most teams know that you won't win a SB by spending a crap ton of money on aging (non HoF) talent. I'm shocked Elway went this direction. He is not bringing in another Manning...or even a Montana for that matter. Hell, I wouldn't even say he is getting Alex Smith. Maybe more like a Redskins Alex Smith.

He'll still have to burn a draft pick in the next couple of years on a QB. I don't hate Flacco or Keenum for that matter, I just don't know why you would spend 29m on that combo.
