What do you guys think makes PP smile? A well typed sales report? Coffee that's not too hot but just right? Tires?

Lol Mo. You crack me up sometimes.
Hey I have enjoying the heck out of this season and especially this 8-1 ride we have been on the last 2 months. I wasn't one who panicked after we got our butt kicked and fell to 2-2. In fact I was called a big homer because I still thought we would have a successful season and put ourselves in a great spot come playoff seeding time.

I said 12-4 at the beginning of the year and was hopeful that would get the 1 seed. Well, it's doubtful 12-4 is gonna get the 1 seed.  I think 13-3 will. Can we win our next 3? I sure think we can.  I like our chances of going 3-0 more than the Pats going 4-0.

If we end the season with the same record as the Pats, both teams would have the same AFC record, and because our strength of victory is much better, we would get the 1 seed. It won't be the end of the world if we get the 2 seed, but it would be much sweeter having home field

The Chiefs keep winning, and in the last 3 weeks they've scored 12, 12 and 14 points with Alex Smith on the field.

Pretty fantastic that the special teams and defense can keep overcoming the total mediocrity that is the Chiefs offense.

It's the exact same formula to what Denver was last year. I used to think we were similar to the seahawks, but that was Alex actually wasn't afraid to run. I don't care if we're not flashy. I love the W's baby!

I agree, fortunately there's enough offensive mediocrity in the NFL that the Chiefs might actually do something if they get home field advantage.   Denver's defense turned it up to another level in the post season.   I guess we'll find out if the Chiefs can do the same.

Home team wins at a 7% higher clip then the NFL average on Thursday nights as well.

So, good defense, good special teams and an 18 degree Thursday night home game spells an 8 point win for our Chiefs!

can someone explain the tiebreaker deal if the patriots and chiefs end up with the same record?

1st tiebreaker after head to head is AFC record. If Pats lose a game, both of us will have same # of losses in the AFC (likely 10-2 for both of us with 13-3 record)

Next tiebreaker is record among common Opponents, with a minimum of 4. Kc and Pats don't have 4 games with common Opponents

Next tie breaker is Strength of victory. Right now our strength of victory is about .490 while the Pats is about .360. So we will end with a better S.O.V. by seasons end

As to those who were discussing Div tiebreaker....
If Denver beats us and both go 12-4, Kc would have better division record and win the West.

Even if Chiefs Broncos and Raiders all go 12-4, we win the West because we went 3-1 vs the other 2 teams, while Broncos would be 2-2 and 1-3 for the Raiders

they will have 4 by the end of the season, pats have the advantage here

denver

Damn. You're right Mo.

I forgot the Pats played Houston.
This would mean they will have 4-1 mark with a loss to Denver and we would 3-2.

Wait, so if we win out in the regular season what happens?

Looks like we need the Pats to lose 2 games for us to get the 1 seed. Otherwise we would be 2 seed.

Ravens, at Broncos, Jets, at Dolphins... It's unlikely the Pats lose 2 of those, but it's not a lock they go 3-1.

This would mean they will have 4-1 mark with a loss to Denver and we would 3-2.

Which is why I said the pats have the tiebreak over us, so they'd have to drop 2 more games.

In sum, the chances of the Pats losing two more games is less (I think) than our chances of losing to Broncos, so I think we want a Pats victory over the Broncos to help secure our hold on the division and a 2 seed.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.
