That was so fun you guys. Mitch was a really fun listen after the game as well. Apparently 8 years ago the broadcast team wrote in some book and sealed it and promised not to open it until the Chiefs won a playoff game. Well big news gang, they're gonna open it at Dave & Buster's tomorrow night so you won't wanna miss it. What do you think is in that book?

Well every monday for years Mitch does this Chiefs Kingdom show from places like Dave and Busters, Johnnys BBQ, Jazz Louisiana Kitchen, etc. And when things looked their very darkest, Mitch had the true Chiefs fans sign that they believed or something to that effect, and they agreed to seal it and only open it when the Chiefs won a playoff game they would open it.

If you can ever stream Chiefs Kingdom Skin Ben, do it. You'd love it. Each show opens with a fan role call. "And tonight we have Cindy Lou Who, Weird Wolf Weird Wife and Weird Cub, We have Suzy Bling Bling in the house, We have the Lake Lotowana Womp Rats," etc.

FWIW, I think I remember that there are some Mitch haters on this board, but he is BITB. Absolutely BITB. He has some dumb gimmicky things like "put the hammer down" and stuff, but if you think Mitch sucks then you should listen to the dudes who do the Saints. I tuned in once at the beginning of the third quarter and listened for the entirety of the third quarter before I even knew what the score was. The play-by-play guy gives less information about each play than Wyatt and is less enthusiastic than Denny Matthews. The color guy is a cajun yokel who is a total idiot. Really all you have to do to realize how good Mitch is at his job is to watch the Decade of Dominance DVD and notice how much information he crams into every play about sets, personnel, etc...then listen to the decline of that as it goes through Greg and into Wyattvision. Mitch has mastered the art of economically choosing his words during playcalls so that he A) speaks really quickly, and B) maximizes those words to only use ones that communicate really useful information. He is also really good at making exciting plays seem really exciting. (Other announcers are often super tepid, even on long touchdown plays. That annoys the crap out of me.)  I stream every Chiefs game online and have listened to almost this entire season rather than going to some bar to watch it because Mitch is great. And, as a townie who grew up listening to him, he is my security blanket.

That's a great way of describing it. One thing Mitch is good at is giving the result of the play immediately after it happens before interjecting anything else. It's amazing how many times I've listened to Bob Davis or Wyatt or terrible Saints guy and they mention that a pass is thrown and then they interject other random BS for like 6 seconds before they even mention whether the pass was caught or not.

As far as network TV, I really like Tirico for the same reasons. His call on the Knile Davis return was great stuff.
