I think we should offer Jamaal 2 years (currently what he has left) for a crap load of cash. Contract only goes through 2015 season.

Reports I'm seeing are 2 yr/ $18 mil which really isn't bad for the Chiefs at all. I don't know how they're going to work a Houston deal though.

I also think this is a good time to rekindle my argument that the Chiefs need to implement more plays with Charles at WR and Davis as the RB. Keep some of the wear and tear off Jamaal while getting the best playmakers on the field.

now, what to do with houston and alex..

houston needs to be extended right now. he's coming off a season where he was amazing, but also missed 5 games. the chiefs can use his missing 5 games to their advantage in negotiations. if they wait, and he plays a full season with 15+ sacks, he's gonna be able to demand more.

alex is coming off a playoff berth and a pro bowl (even though it's bs). next year, he'll be coming off a losing season and won't sniff the pro bowl.

the chiefs would have the bargaining power if they wait. but, at that point, let him walk.

Those 2 would be maybe tied for 3rd on CF3's 2014 worry list. Long term more worried about QB for sure. (BUT SMITH PRO BOWL!)
