If you guys don't know who Dee Ford is it is only because you can name 5 QBs and 5 other people in the draft.  It was not some ridiculous pick

shut up chicat. this isn't about dee ford.

Browns gave up a better third round pick than what we could have offered, even if we had wanted to.  The Browns had the 19th pick, from the Steelers, which they traded to the Eagles to move up.  The Chiefs don't have a second round pick, and their third is at #23.

It wasn't meant to be, and couldn't have been....If we assume that the Browns wanted players NOW and not in future years (which I think is the case for a new-ish GM).

That comforts me....a bit.

Bridgewater was still there, though.

I didn't want him.  Football types say his mechanics are really bad.

The pick is whatever, he'll be fine and replace Tamba after this season saving $9 mil.

What I am pissed at is the fact that we are now 100% stuck with Alex rough ridin' Smith for the next several years. He has ALL the bargaining power. When he gets the Cutler contract it will doom us for 5+ years.

DOOM.

Absolutely. Still about 5 QBs better than any in last years class.

Sure, but they wont.

I'd rather have the 8th or 9th best QB in this draft than Tyler Bray.

Dee Ford is a stud. If it wasn't for some injury concerns he might have been a top 10 pick. That being said I wanted Teddy pretty bad and there where some other good value picks still there (I would have liked Dennard or Verrett, didn't want Lee we don't need another WR who drops a lot of passes) and really wish they would have traded down.

Two things I take some comfort in is that it appears they did try to trade down, waiting until :20 left on the clock seems like they where trying to make a deal until the end. Second it appears they took the highest rated player on their board, regardless of position and "experts" rankings.

He'll get back in playing shape...right? He seemed to be one of the more dedicated players on a team that went through some DREADFUL years. I'll be really disappointed if he continues to be fat.

the 2nd round pick we traded for alex smith ended up with denver via trade and they used it to get more fire power with the WR from indiana. ironic.
