If Jordan Matthews is available for WR then take him, but I'd bet him and Evans are off the table by the time the Chiefs draft. None of the mock drafts I've seen have that many QB's going in the first round, despite the ESPN talking point, so if one that Dorsey likes is still available I'd say take him. Would not be mad about getting a stud lineman though.

Trade the late first round pick for a couple 2nd round picks.

There are going to be some decent QBs available at the end of the 1st round, but I wouldn't count on one at the end of the 2nd round. Guys like Carr, Hundley, Murray, and Boyd will be gone by then.

Alex Smith hasn't lost a football game since 10/14/2012.

Yeah he deserves all the credit for yesterday

He didn't eff it up, which isn't nothing (or maybe that's exactly what it is, but is better than a negative).

I honestly don't think there are too many other QBs in the league, if any, that would have this team undefeated right now. Not saying Alex Smith is the best QB, just that a lot of other QBs would be slinging the ball around and making enough mistakes for us to lose one.  Alex.  A serviceable QB that we can move on from the second we get a better option.

Throw a couple 3rd round picks at QBs the next couple years and hope one develops.  You draft a first round QB, usually you are reaching and definitely not taking the best available player.  Then you put fan expectations on playing him regardless of if he is panning out and less than 50% pan out.  Unless you have a top 2 or so pick, take a 3rd rounder when you can get better value and don't have the pressure to start him on the first weekend.

 There are like 12 quarterbacks who you could put on this team and everyone would say we're super bowl favorites.

Not sure if it has been mentioned already, but the Chiefs don't have a 2nd round pick in '14. The 3rd round pick KC traded to SF for Smith turned into a 2nd round pick since KC won 8 games. Alex Smith: The gift that keeps on giving!

Not arguing that.  I am saying that I think those 12 QBs would have lost a game by now that Alex has won.  I think they are better QBs but they are also more prone to mistakes, thus having cost us a game by now.

Why do you say that?  There's probably going to be no less than four quarterbacks taken in the first round.

Other than overhyped Aaron Murray there will be some good QBs in the draft.

Blaine Gabbert was a 1st round pick, doesn't mean much. I just don't think there is that much NFL QB talent in this draft class. None of them are worth a 1st round pick imo but Hundley from UCLA is my fav.

Okay, so you think they won't pan out, but it's a better class than last year.

Keep in mind, I mean pre-draft. Like how the prospects looked before last year's draft.

He's legit.  So is imo Teddy Bridgewater and Marcus Mariotta has a high ceiling.

Also likely to go in first round besides Hundly, Bridgewater and Mariotta are Manziel, Boyd, and Murray.  It's possible someone jumps on McCarron too.

And Mettenberger, Carr and Morris (probably not the first round tho, but maybe).

No, but there are plenty that are capable, which means the Chiefs could get a pretty great one at the end of the first round.

It's amazing how over valued QB's are in the draft compared to every other position.

I said it and it seems like I'm not the only one who thinks this too.  Time will tell how they all will pan out but this generally being regarded as one of the best qb drafts in quite a while.
