Chiefs QB Matt Cassel still not cleared to start yet. As one observer in Dome just texted, "Warmups weren't pretty."   :frown:

Must have been talking about Bradford pear.

Don't care if this has been mentioned . . . B. Croyle is the kind of QB you want parading his hot wife around at the X-Mas party, but not starting for your team . . . 0-10 as a starter.
I've never cared much about how many wins a QB has.  Football is too much of a team game to focus on one player like that.

But yeah, Croyle sucks.

That may be true to a certain extent . . . but once you start getting into double digit starts and you still haven't won a game it's starting to become a trend.

prolly because we haven't won a playoff game since 1993.

This.

I'm not really scared about the Tennessee game, but the Oakland game scares the crap out of me. FWIW, Oakland will be looking to go 6-0 vs the AFC West this year in two weeks.

Before I address your latest awful contribution to this thread, let's go back and see your other offerings:

—You called Todd Haley a "rough ridin' dumbass," even though Haley is a coach of the year candidate whose rebuilding Chiefs have led the AFC West since week 1.
—You said, "eff Charlie Weis," apparently unaware of the fact that Weis's offense—led by the quarterback he vowed to fix—ranks 10th in the NFL and has been the team's strength for much of the season.
—Through eight games, you said, "The Chiefs should seriously be undefeated right now or at least 7-1." They scored 9 points at Indy and had arguably the NFL's luckiest win against the Bills. Not to mention the fact that they easily could have lost to the Browns and didn't deserve to beat the Texans.
—You called McCluster a "FP who needs to grow a pair," and I'd argue that nobody on the Chiefs has taken as many hard hits as he has this season. McCluster had a high ankle sprain and the Chiefs were correct not to rush him back. I'm glad he's now healthy for the stretch run, and besides, the Chiefs did just fine without him.
—You said that "Haley has cost us too many points this season by going for it on fourth down." I have pointed out the numerous occasions where Haley's gambles have helped the Chiefs, but allow me to update the list: The Chiefs converted a 4th-and-1 from their own 48 against the Rams and went on to score a TD that gave them a 7-6 lead in the second quarter. I'm assuming you had no problem with the gamble, but only because it worked.
—Two weeks ago, you said "I have a feeling we will go 2-2 in the next four games and SD will win out and win the division." Well, the Chiefs are 2-0 so far. Are you now suggesting that the Chiefs, who are 6-0 at Arrowhead, will lose consecutive home games to close out the season?
—And now, you tell us that the Oakland game "scares the crap out of you."

You've yet to be right about anything in this entire thread. For the Chiefs' sake, I hope you don't find your nut you blind squirrel.

I killed it with the last one. Stupid me. Chiefs are 1-1 the last two weeks. Not sure what I was thinking.

But seriously, PowercatPat needs to be banned from this thread.

You've yet to be right about anything in this entire thread. For the Chiefs' sake, I hope you don't find your nut you blind squirrel.

1. Haley has far exceeded my expectations this year. He has the Chiefs in postition to win the AFC West with one of the easiest schedules in the NFL.

2. Charlie Weis' offense has exceeded my expectations as well, but it is still too inconsistent. His offense scored 13 pts in 5 quarters against Buffalo, scored 10 points against Denver at home, and went on a 7 quarter scoring drought from the 2nd half of the Denver game through the first quarter of the St. Louis game.

3. I'm not saying we should have won in Indy, but the game was extremely winnable. If Bowe catches that TD pass in the 2nd half then the game may have turned out a lot different than it did. The Texans game was definitely a game we should have won imo.

4. I'll admit I was a little too hard on McCluster. There's no way he's taking the biggest hits on the team this year, like you said.

5. You have also failed to point out the situations that have cost us points as well. Haley single handed kept Denver and Buffalo in the game by going for it on fourth down,  instead of going for easy field goals that would have given us two possession leads. He also went for it on 4th and 2 from the 8 yard line in Indy, while we were only down 3-0.

6. The Chiefs are actually 1-1 since I said that, not 2-0. After winning in St. Louis last week I now think we will win the West.

7. What's wrong with saying the Oakland game scares me? The Chiefs will likely be playing for the division, something that most players on the team have never done. Oakland is a dangerous team. They are already 5-0 against the West and they have a dangerous running game with McFadden and Bush.

I guess my point is that you've spent the entire season complaining about the Chiefs and all their apparent flaws, and yet despite these "shortcomings" they remain in first place of the AFC West with two home games left against sub-.500 teams.

A home playoff game is a real possibility, and most Chiefs fans are getting excited. Except for you. You've spent all year criticizing the coaches and the players and have forecasted nothing but doom and gloom. Even after a 9-5 start. And now, you offer: "The Raiders scare the crap out of me"?

By the time you start enjoying the season, it's going to be over.

Just jump on the bandwagon already.
