He gets the credit and the blame, just like Alex Smith. The difference is that Alex doesn't have any huge seasons to take credit for. Alex is better than most QB's in the league, but he's not better than Eli.

looks like they met in the 2011 NFC championship game and the Giants won 20-17 in overtime. alex smith confirmed loser due to this outcome

Yes, NFL is QB driven. Yes, I want an elite QB. No, I don't think Smith is "elite."

two things. First, 3 of the past 6 Super Bowl winners weren't elite. Eli x 2, Flacco. Defining "elite" is tough to begin with. Second, we were 2-14 last year and we picked up, IMO, the best QB available in both the draft and free agency. If SMith is good enough for 10-11 wins and a playoff win, then he's the best QB we've had here since Montana.

Into the future, yeah, we need to be drafting QBs and developing them into hopefully elite QBs.

Eli's got two more sacks on the year? 3 were against KC and our great pass rush.

Those are some great lists of QBs better than Alex Smith.

Which ones were available for John Dorsey to have signed this offseason?

If Andy Reid can go to a Super Bowl with McNabb he can probably win 10 with Alex Smith.

If there are 3 tiers of NFL QBs, Alex Smith is on the 2nd one, and he has no chance of ever being on the 1st.

2nd tier qbs can be very successful.

I think 2nd tier QB's can be very successful too, I'm not saying he can't. Just look at Eli and Roethlisberger. I just think he has a better chance of moving to the 3rd tier than he does the 1st tier.

Also, if Jordan Matthews is still available in the first round that's who they should get (unless there's a great QB that no one has picked up).

I'll be there too. Should be quite a few chiefs fans making the trip. Hopefully making it back to KC two weeks later for the 2nd.
