We got what we could but that haul is a pretty big disappointment

I'm not disappointed.

I’m aware.  We lost a top 5 wr and added two decent picks and you’re creaming yourself.

And gained a bunch of cap, right?

There is not a tyreek Hill in this year's draft and certainly not at 29. There has to be something wild coming up and for a younger guy or else this makes no sense

There's no one else like him, period.

All we need to do is smear the reputation of a 1st round WR prospect and get him to fall to the 4th round

Have you seen the numbers on what Hill is getting paid? We can't pay that kind of money to a WR when we've paid Mahomes.

I would definitely prefer to have Hill next year over not having him. However, I'm not willing to sacrifice the next 3-4 years after 2022 just to do a little better in 2022. To consistently win, you have to draft well, not pay free agents top dollar.

We got a solid return for a 28-year old receiver whose best years, in my opinion are not ahead of him. We didn't rob the Dolphins, but are set up to potentially be better long term.

I don't understand the frustration towards the Chiefs.  It's not like they didn't try resigning the guy.  Hell their offer was top 3 WR money.  Hill just wanted #1.

I agree there isn't a replacement right now for Tyreek, but have you all not noticed what rookie WRs have been doing?  Chase, Waddle, Smith, Toney, Bateman, Moore... I could go on.  We can get a stud WR in the draft, to play with the best QB in the league, and by the time Tyreek is washed, it won't take long, we will have someone just as good as he was this last year (stats wise).  Tyreek will miss Mahomes more than Mahomes misses Tyreek.

I cannot speak for others, but I'm not mad. I'm just a little disappointed at what it does to the Chiefs' playoff outlook.

Not sure how much a real hit it it'll be (obviously something) but the key is thinking about this the next 4-5 years. If the Chiefs want another SB (or two) in that time frame they gotta get someone for that time, and while we all love Hill and what he brings, he won't be that guy for 4-5 years imo.

I agree there isn't a replacement right now for Tyreek, but have you all not noticed what rookie WRs have been doing?  Chase, Waddle, Smith, Toney, Bateman, Moore... That's how I feel at this point. There is a lot of great talent to smooth out what was becoming either eff it Tyreek is down there or just dump it to Kelce. Kelce is still there so having Juju and *pick a stud WR or two in the draft* and then move on.

We may not be looking at the #1 seed, but I wouldn't call a team with Mahomes at QB out of any playoffs.  This is prepping Chiefs to be playoff bound for next 5 years.  Brady made a lot of WRs look better than they were (except Moss because he was a stud).

That's fine, Kim. That wasn't directed at you. Also, I did some homework:

Good trade,

You can't have the highest paid QB and highest paid WR on a roster.  You are paying PM to make average/below average WR's work.

In the long run I think trading Tyreek was the right move but dam am I going to miss watching him play football every sunday. His in game speed/quickness is insane, sometimes he makes it look like he's playing against college players.

Also I'm going to miss the "F it, Tyreek down there somewhere" throws.

Mahomes threw for 7 TD’s and 800 yards in 2 of the 5 games.  Throwing only 1 TD in the other 3 games is a rough stat.

* if those games in your tweet are correct

Tyreek would have held out of training camp this year and been an annoying distraction all season.  After the season he would then pack his bags and search for largest contract, with KC not getting a single thing out of it.  Veach executed the absolutely best case scenario in this situation and that should not be ignored.  With 5 draft picks I honestly think he exceeded what should have been the absolutely best case scenario.

Word is that the Chiefs have asked about Metcalf and Lockett.  I think Lockett could do some of the things Hill did at a better value.  He can't do all of the things Hill did, but if end up with something close to a first rounder, Lockett, and $13m in additional cap space out of it then I'm pretty happy.
