They were the two players that could free up cap space. A lot of players in that mid-range of salary will be dumped to get under the cap so I'm hopeful we'll be able to replace them with some talent even if it's just on one year contracts.

the chiefs are worse off than most of the league so i'm not sure i agree with chicat's sentiment.
