Is Greensburg not rebuilding very quickly? I'm sure you guys would know since that would make local news.

This is the practice facility thread. We have 1 court for each  bball team in our facility. So I guess if 1.5 is the new 1, we're at like .75 then. Thats still better than no practice courts.

Are these practice facilities also underwater? Is mold inhalation conducive to The Mayor's style of play?  Are there term limits for being a mayor in Iowa?  Are you guys even going to field a team this year?  Will ISU have to pull a Necessary Roughness and hold open try-outs to fill out their roster?  Who originally thought that a skunk would be a good eponym for a creek?  When your corn/pig god gets mad, does he smote people, pigs, or corn?

I know it's been discussed, but did anyone come to a conclusion why having a practice court is such a huge issue other than the "everybody else has one" complaint?

Here are some things that are more important.

Replacing our shitty floor (Tex Winterized)
Let Scott build the best weight room in the country  (might be done with the new facility  :dunno:)
Improving our boring concourse
HD screens
Paying recruits
Painting DOOM on top of Bramlage
Take out the tarp and build more seating

Take out the tarp and put in a new tarp with a picture of Frank screaming

Practice facilities are on high ground. Mold was conducive to McDermott's style of play. As long as the Mayor keeps the Magic rolling, there are no term limits. We will field a very sub-mediocre team this year that will practice with the best scout team in the nation. There will be no open try-outs since we have so many transfers ready to play in 2011. Squaw is the name of the creek that goes by Hilton Coliseum. I'll let a farmer friend of mine answer that last question in 6-8 weeks.

It took KU less than a year to build one of the best basketball facilities in the country.  K-State is still waiting for a pig farmer in western Kansas to win the lottery.

I thought someone finally posted renderings. Nothing disappoints me more than expecting to see renderings only to find out that I will not be seeing renderings.

Yeah, all this having to use your imagination and amounts of money is pretty useless to me.  What's a big wall of limestone with a practice facility in it cost?  A million?  A billion?  Who knows.  I'm not a limestone wall with a practice place and tvs and a waterfall and junk cost specialist.

i did a little googling and calculating.  turns out limestone (the good stuff, cut and everything) goes for $150/ton.  so for 12 million, it sounds like we should be able to get limestone wall weighing about 80000 tons minus whatever tvs, waterfalls, practice places and junk cost.

it'd be great if someone with good photoshop skills may be able to render up a plan based on these figures.

So are you guys expecting construction to start before the world ends in 2012, or what?

Breaking News: As people continue to argue after the revival of this thread: Royce White, Chris Babb, and Chris Allen continue to practice in the new Iowa State Basketball Practice Facility.

And our arena is not under water, therefore our players are practicing on the court they'll play over half their games on.
