i guess if/when the stuff is up for viewing at Hulu isn't really important.  their costs will be going up as well and pushed to the consumer just like what has happened with netflix.
probably so, but they have their advantage of ads
it's really not the same.  those ads don't draw jack for revenue.  the equivalent to putting your finger in a crack in the dam, or whatever.

Watching Modern Family is such a tuck thing to do. Who knew OK_Cat was a tuck? Poor man's Arrested Development.

don't think tucks enjoy modern family, it has gays in it.

also, arrested development wasn't funny.  ok_cat's biggest pet peeve is people talking about how great a short-lived tv show was.

Arrested Development is very funny.

Starting Sept. 1, subscribers will be charged $15.98 per month to keep both the streaming and DVD-by-mail features. Or, they can choose one or the other for $7.99. For new subscribers, the rates took effect immediately.

Did they used to let you pick whether you wanted streaming or not?

I've been paying $14 or something to get 1 blu-ray at a time, but I just went in and edited my plan under the new pricing structure and did 5.99 for two blu-rays a month so i'm actually happy I ran across this.  I have HD DVR & HBO so there's usually only one or two movies a month that I would rather watch then whats on my DVR anyways.

Yeah, I don't know what OK Cat's god damn problem is, but he's pretty wrong about that.  Also, Modern Family is alright.

Agreed. I almost got involved, but I figured he was just talking foolishness in the heat of the moment with jt.

yes.
my plan was $7.99 for streaming + $2 for 1 DVD at a time + $2 for blu-ray total $12/mo.  in the new plan i think it's like $18.
not really a huge increase but the whole reason i did it in the first place was b/c it was so cheap, now it's basically $20 and doesn't feel so cheap.  i've had the blu-ray director's cut of bladerunner sitting on my coffee table for 3 weeks.  i don't churn and burn movies like a lot of you losers.

This is where I am at too.  Def dropping the disc delivery.  not sure about streaming.  May give Hulu plus a try.  Haven't looked into it fully yet, so not sure.  Using Netflix for some full season tv shows like the orig season of damages, weeds, etc.  If hulu goes that far back, I will prob try them out.

I did a tour on hulu on the tivo last night and the quality was much better than Netflix.  What do the Hulu users think about the comparo to Netflix?

Smell you later streaming. Get some real movies and I'll come back. I'll keep my DVD package though. Go Cats.

My issue is that I don't, but when I finally get the chance to, I want it to be something I want to watch.  Nothing worse than getting to the end of a long day, finally getting an hour or so to watch something, and having to watch something you really don't care to watch.

the only advantage netflix has that hulu doesn't have is no commercials....but even then, it's only a couple minutes worth of commercials per show, so it's not a big deal.  hulu is better quality/faster imo.

the only reason we're keeping netflix streaming is because my rugrat watches barney/dora/other kid stuff that hulu doesn't have.

i have a 1230p tv, which is obviously superior to 1080p, look at the numbers.  hulu plus caters to those of us who have 1230p tvs, and not you hobos slumming it up with 1080p.

Pretty selective on what I like.  Not digging a lot of the network stuff now.  If it wasn't for USA, my tivo would have 75% less stuff on it.  Streaming has been a huge relief for me in that I don't have to watch shitty CSI shows, etc.
